  1. http://www.earthcam.com/usa/florida/manalapan/palmbeach/?cam=manalapan_palmbeach Fairly good cam at Palm Beach, East Coast of Florida
  2. Fairly active storm near Newcastle, looks like something may be developing South of here
  3. Amazing! notice how the CG on the hill to the right at 0:01 seems to spark the close striking CG
  4. I love it when you post! you always make me keep abit of faith that i might see a storm!
  5. ESTOFEX Level 1 for the UK today A level 1 was issued for parts of UK mainly for excessive rain and isolated large hail. ... CNTRL UK ... Latest surface data indicates dewpoints in excess of 15 °C, also visible on satellite data with broad areas of stratus cloudiness. 00 UTC soundings indicate pronounced capping beneath 800 hPa and moderately steepened mid-level lapse rates atop, as fading EML spreads north. With good diabatic heating, up to .5-1 kJ/kg capped MLCAPE seems possible. Regarding CI, models diverge with some showing robust initiation and upscale growth into a northward moving cluster, whereas others remain more reluctant - mainly due to varying thermodynamic conditions in the models. With upper flow becoming increasingly divergent and analyzed numerous more or less pronounced convergence lines, isolated to scattered CI seems plausible. Very weak DLS precludes organized DMS, but magnitude of CAPE should support numerous strong updrafts. Large hail and excessive rain will be the main hazard - the latter risk especially, if storms grow upscale into a cluster. This activity weakens during the night with loss of daytime heating, but isolated storms could continue well into the night with enough MUCAPE forecast until 06 UTC.
  6. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/video-tornado-touches-down-in-sheffield-as-thunderstorms-rage-across-city-1-8123399 Reports of a tornado in Sheffield The video is pretty poor quality so cant really make out if it was a tornado or not, have a look folks
  7. Just a video screenshot from Stanedge Edge, the best one i picked up as i wasn't filming for very long
  8. Oh my what a day!! After writing off my chances for a storm this morning i decided to head to Chatsworth for a BBQ and chill with a couple of mates, the sky to the south started to darken and eventually looked apocalyptic, we ran to the car just in time to avoid the torrential rain and gusty winds that arrived, i had no radar access at this point due to having no mobile signal so i had no idea of the magnitude of what was approaching us. After sitting in the car getting pelted by a few marble sized hailstones we decided to chase the storm Northwards through Grindleford towards Stanedge Edge to get a better vantage point. The roads were bad, flooding everywhere, leaves and a fair few large branches down. We could see constant lightning infront of us from a lovely green tinted sky, after battling through the flooded roads we made it onto the tops of Stanedge edge and sat and watched the storm move Northwards, obvserving some brilliant IC and and a few CG strikes before the storm moved off north and died down. The lightning was some of the most constant i have ever witnessed, not that many CG's but a great display none the less and looking at the radar the precip was very intense. Got back into Chesterfield where not a drop of rain has fallen and it still feels very warm, a brilliant day afterall!
  9. Looks like i will be too far east today, same old story from this year, everything going either side of us
  10. Yes only a tongue in cheek observation from me, looks like a beast of a storm for you right now! To think i was in Conigsby just up the road from you a few weeks ago, would love to be back there now! Iv always maintained that South Lincs / Peterborough area is the storm capital of the UK.
  11. Well folks, no prizes for guessing which location has got the best storm of the day. Thats right, its the North Sea!
  12. A new cell just sparked up south of Kidderminster, clutching at straws here! Would have loved to chase to S Lincs but i imagine the roads are awful today
  13. Plenty of precip but no lightning on the western edge, looks like our chance is slim. The usual storm capital of the UK is doing well
  14. Cells erupting everywhere now in a large line, new Sferics near Leicester
  15. Moderate to heavy rainfall again here, been an absolutely miserable day. Unbelievable contrast to the south
  16. Bang average summer really... Terrible for thunderstorms though, bar the very thundery period at the beginning of June
  17. Can we please refrain from posting such utter garbage on these forums, the so called "journalists" who write these articles are just pathetic.
  18. Dissapointing day for me, missed a nice little storm back home, and then decided to sit and wait here at Conigsby only to be missed to the South. This storm was over Boston/Spalding putting out constant thunder. A great day for UK storms however!
