  1. Fair chance of 'sferics for the SW on Tuesday I think. I'd say that there might even be a small chance of some on Monday night but that's just wishful thinking perhaps.
  2. I used to live in Merrick Court and Perrett's Court, both very close to where this video is shot. I do miss the nice views of the harbour and the SS Great Britain. Some showers off the SW coast of Cornwall currently. Not sure they were in the forecast? I doubt they will be strong enough to make landfall, but you never know.
  3. Quite overcast here with the sun peeking through every now and then. Breezy, with the temp in the very low twenties. I'm sure last week's forecast had a heatwave for today?! Take the long range forecasts with a pinch of salt.
  4. Not a bad temperature today in North Somerset, lowish twenties with a nice breeze. xcweather is trying to frighten me for this coming Monday, it has the temperature for Bristol Airport as getting up to 37 degrees. That would put Bristol city centre even higher, given the elevation of the airport and how it is typically 1-2 degrees cooler there most times of the year. Bristol's record temperature is 34 degrees I believe, so I'm finding this prediction a little exaggerated.
  5. Overcast here. For me, it's a nice break from the sun as I usually run and walk in the middle hours of the day so the overhead sun at this time of year can be a tough on the constitution for a person of my advanced years (53). Some fairly decent echoes on the radar out in the Irish Sea, but again I doubt that any rain will make it to these shores.
  6. Bright and warm morning with a nice breeze, that front is just starting to push in now with the odd bit of leading cumulus obscuring the sun. There's rain on the rear side of the front according to the radar but almost zero chance of that reaching us I would say.
  7. Likewise ... I'm of Irish stock: by mid-summer I have just about turned white from blue. Next stop red. Then back to white, and blue again, usually by November.
  8. Three water features serve the birds (and frog) in our garden. Never had a hedgehog in 12 years, which is a shame!
  9. My partner will be very jealous, she loves the sound of cuckoos. We've not heard one in our area in around 8 years. That one kept going night and day!
  10. I lived in Madrid for a while back in the early '90s - the summers were brutal. I don't know what the actual day temperatures truly were, but the 'MacDonalds Thermometers' you would see everywhere were often in the '40s. Day after day after day. The apartment I first rented had no aircon. It was brutal. Next time I lived there, I took a room in an apartment in the mountains to the north and commuted into the city.
  11. Rinse and repeat here. Mostly cloudy with a bit of sun poking through occasionally. Still waiting for this predicted 'heatwave'. Seems like many weather forecasters these days simply treat the predictive modelling as fact. Surely there was always some chance of this NW flow remaining in situ?
  12. Greyish here today with showers in the vicinity, but nothing has hit so far. It's been mostly dry over the last 2-3 days, but the few showers we have had here have been very heavy. Hence, the garden is once again happy and the water butt full.
  13. Likewise. Lots of very dark clouds to the N and S but nothing has dropped rain here so far. I'm happy for no rain today, had plenty over the last 24-48 hours and now have a full water butt. Time to mow the grass ...
  14. Finally got a bit of rain this evening. The radar suggests more to come in the next hour. Happy garden.
  15. No, I missed that. Cardiff and the valleys seemed to be getting more than their fair share of heavy weather yesterday.
  16. Showers in the forecast today but they all dodged Portishead. The wind added further insult to injury by blowing over our new water butt. Think I'll just give up and plant some cactii.
  17. Not much going on here. Mostly grey, with the odd bright moment. There were a few spots of rain on the car windscreen around late morning, but nothing which would help a peroxide lawn.
  18. Big nothing-burger so far. A few dark clouds and the very odd raindrop, but that's it. I even cut the lawn as a rain offering.
  19. Sunny start but high cloud already starting to move in from the SE. The current showers in the SE don't look especially thundery but it's early in the day.
