  1. A couple of lively showers on the North Brittany coast again, this time earlier in the day, but unlikely I think that they make progress across the channel. Cloudless skies here in North Somerset. Tomorrow is now marked with a weather warning for thunderstorms.
  2. A couple of thunderstorms in Brittany at the moment, creeping north. They will very likely certainly die out as they hit the cool waters of the channel but worth keeping half an eye on perhaps.
  3. Sunny all day here so far in Portishead and Clevedon. Wasn't sure what to expect after the weekend and its variable forecasts.
  4. I couldn't see how the temperature was going to drop in my area by nearly ten degrees (warm air mass meets cold air mass) and yet there would be no rain with that. Mind you, all that rain on the radar somehow is missing me currently. Worst of both worlds - gloom but no rain.
  5. Mostly sunny all day here, and warm. I think we get a bit of 'channel sink' effect here in Portishead. A bit of high cloud just starting to move in now as I type. Seem to be some showers just off Cornwall, I expect the chances of them making landfall are slim. (Do I sound like someone praying for rain for his scorched lawn?)
  6. Looking like another hot day, but I notice that radar is showing rain approaching Cornwall and Pembrokeshire from the SW. I wonder if any of that will survive the high pressure. Nothing in any of my usual forecasts that indicated rain for the SW.
  7. Looking like a hot end to the week. Not a fan of the heat, being a pale-skinned Celt (white is me with a tan, blue is my winter colour). But at least we may get a plume out of that heat for some 'sferics, fingers crossed.
  8. Bright sunny day here, albeit rather breezy. Looks like the Bristol Channel is between two bands of showers.
  9. Sunny start here, then a brief light shower just before lunchtime, followed by a heavy downpour after lunch. The weather seems to have stabilised somewhat since then.
  10. Soggy weekend, but the lawn is happy! There was no sign of the forecast thundery weather yesterday. Saw a few flashes in the nighttime sky late Saturday evening but that was about it.
  11. Just checked the radar, there's a wall of storms heading toward us from the Brittany and Normandy coasts. Could be an interesting evening if they hold up!
  12. Fresh north-easterly breeze here with the heavy weather coming up from the south. Not sure whether that will lead to more wet weather later or whether the high pressure to the north of us will (briefly) prevail.
  13. Every forecast I looked at today said something different. I thought there might be a spot of rain, but looks like there could be more than that - some sharp showers building over the SW.
  14. It's just crappy up here. No rain, just gloomy clouds with the odd burst of sunlight. Got a cloudburst early this morning but that's about it.
  15. Possible thunderstorms on the menu today, even a small chance of some funnel clouds, apparently. Severe Convective Weather & Storms Forecast - Netweather.tv WWW.NETWEATHER.TV
  16. Light showers today in Portishead, no obvious signs so far of anything that might flash brightly or make a big noise ...
