  1. Excellent, i have so missed the persistent, endless, relentless rain and the associated flooding, fields of mud and mud covered soggy dogs. Not sure how well sarcasm is picked up in the written word.
  2. Currently 2.6c here after getting down to -1c at some point during the night. Cloudy and bleugghh with a chilly wind. Has anyone seen any signs of spring in the models? Any sun and warmth at all? I normally read the model thread all year around but this winter it drove me insane. I might start reading it again when spring finally arrives and the coldies disappear until next winter. I suppose I could go in there and throw a tantrum about the lack of warmth.
  3. The clouds have bubbled up and swallowed my sun and my warmth.
  4. Turned into a gorgeous sunny day here and I've been stuck indoors cooking Looking out of my kitchen window towards the north west, I can see darker clouds, so that must be the storms to the west of Wells that I can see on the radar.
  5. Frosty and foggy start here and now just cloudy and meh. Hoping for an appearance from the sun at some point today. My husband was talking to his friend last night who lives in Aberdeenshire and they were (and probably still are) experiencing a massive white-out.
  6. Certainly some bright echoes showing on the radar over Portsmouth.
  7. That is what I am finding so frustrating with the weather, its either cold or when it does warm up it bloody rains! My hobbies are outdoors in the spring and summer months and need it dry and warm. I don't want another year like last year, I think I'd go insane. Its not just the farm that suffered but also the wildlife especially the insects. They need a good year to recover numbers. Anyway it is mainly cloudy here but with sunny spells and it is pleasantly warm when the sun does shine.
  8. Snowed here earlier but didn't settle. My Mum phoned earlier to blame me for the weather and apparently she has heavy snow on the west wilts downs near Salisbury.
  9. We had a nice sunny break for a while but the sky is dark and its piddling down again.
  10. Never mind i found it http://www.nowcast.co.uk/lightning/
  11. Had an achy head for the past hour or so and have just heard some distant rumbles. Absolutely piddling down again. I use to look at a website that had a map with thunder and lightning activity on when I used my pc but now use a laptop and i cannot remember what it was called, anyone know the site i mean?
  12. Lovely sunny morning but now clouded over and the temp is now dropping
  13. Ahhhh glorious sunshine. We got down to -6.5c last night but it did look very pretty this morning. Now up to 4.7c. We had a cracking hail shower late yesterday afternoon that turned everything white. There was still lots of lying hail on the ground this morning.
  14. I can try but after being teased last Tuesday with a beautiful sunny day with temps about 15c it is difficult. A week ago I went out on my bike in a t shirt, today I went out with the dogs looking like Michelin man! I wouldn't mind it so much if we didn't have that biting wind, its too painful. My husband grows a beard to protect his face in preparation for cold spells for working on the farm, as much as I try I just can't get mine to grow!
  15. Blue sky, sun shining and now if the wind would sod off and the temperature would go up by 15 or so degrees I would be a happy bunny. Just gone up above freezing to .3c with a nice -8c windchill.
  16. Temp been hovering around 1c. Small flakes blowing around on the wind on and off for the last couple of hours. Humidity is only 51% so the air is very dry.
  17. That wind is just pure evil. Took the dogs out across the fields and we are completely exposed here. The wind stung my face and was so painful. I'm now back and feel like I’ve been to have a tooth extracted but the dentist has been trigger-happy with his anaesthetic. I'm suppose to be doing house work (my son's 18th was on saturday, so house is a bomb site) but am trying to get the feeling back in my face with a hot cup of coffee. temp is up to 1.3c. I can cope with cold but I can't bear that wind.
  18. temp 0.4c dp -7.1c and a bloody hideous biting wind. I have to take the dogs out in a minute with the wind racing across the fields. I should have invested in a balaclava. I'm yearning for the weather of I think last Tuesday of sun and about 15c, so lovely. The wind has also caused another problem. I have a rather daft male blue tit who keeps attacking his reflection in my new patio door. The advice was to cover the door in clingfilm which I did but the wind blew it off last night and he is back again today flying and pecking at the glass.
  19. Been snowing here for a couple of hours at varying intensity but hasn't settled, too wet on the ground. Temp 0.9c, cold and wet.
  20. Yesterday was stunning and got up to 15c. I went out on my bike and also took the dogs out for a lovely long walk. I hope that wasn't our Spring. Back to cloud and blergghh and looking colder next week. I'm willing to suffer a bit longer if someone can promise me a cracking summer. Currently 9c and cloud.
  21. If Jemma Cooper mentions lack of rain or drought she is likely to have a rain gauge shoved somewhere the sun doesn't shine. Chilly tonight, currently -1.6c.
  22. Same as everyone else, the odd light flurry throughout the day. currently 1.3c and the humidity has been slowly going up. I'm just happy that its dry, so much easier walking around the fields.
  23. Temperature has gone up from -1c to 0.4c now with a dewpoint of -7.9c and humidity of 54%. The dewpoint got down to -8.5c earlier in the day with humidity as low as 51%. The puddles freeze up overnight and the soil is pretty hard now but no visible signs of a frost because the air is so dry.
  24. Temp 1.4c dp -6.7c Real biting NNE wind. Went out with the dogs across the fields with my daft hat on (needed it) and decided I need a balaclava. Seriously raw cheeks and not just the ones on my face.
