  1. 14.9c for me please. Pleasantly warm overall, but no heatwave. MM
  2. 9.2c for me please. Cooler first half then warming up a bit. MM
  3. It has been quite a breezy day here in Tunbridge Wells, with the occasional strong gust, but not really anything that unusual or really notable for a deep low pressure system at this time of the year. No signs of any structural damage at all - although a pair of someone's waterproof trousers arrived in the front garden! I suppose it all depends where you are located, but i would not say this was a widespread SE event. MM
  4. I'll go for 4.1c. A mixed month with perhaps a week of winter weather. MM
  5. Snowing lightly in my part of Tunbridge Wells and a light dusting in places and on cars. MM
  6. Here in Tunbridge Wells my rain gauge has already had over an inch since midnight. Some really short but intense bursts in the last 6 hours. MM
  7. Everything white here, with cars starting to struggle to get up and down the hill outside my house! No more than a covering, we are not measuring this in centimetres - but easily the first complete covering of the winter. MM
  8. Spot on Paul, yes it hit Tunbridge Wells! 2 degree temperature drop and enough to leave a dusting on the grass and cars. Hopefully just the first, with more to come. mM
  9. Also the uppers are currently in the -6/-7 range at the moment. The -10 or better uppers are expected to arrive later on today. So we can still live in hope! MM
  10. Yes I agree, especially as on Thursday evening in to Friday we have the lowest 850s during this spell of -9/-10c. The wind speed is ok as well, which will help to bring any precipitation further inland. The thickness does become a bit marginal as time goes on (526-533), but with those low 850s we just might get away with it.
  11. Some bigger blobs developing in the Thames estuary that might be able to track further south in to Kent/East Sussex. We shall see! MM
  12. I wouldn't worry too much about the local forecast. They really have no real inside track or confidence as to what will happen!! They have sort of covered themselves by putting a few random snowflakes on the chart, but as to how much and where, well they (just like us) do not really know. Certainly things could be interesting in the next two or three days the more to the wind direction veers from N to ENE. MM
  13. Snowing nicely here on the high ground in Tunbridge Wells, medium size flakes and settling. MM
  14. Just got home (don't ask) and on the high ground in Tunbridge Wells the snow has left a white tinge on the lawn and the roof of cars. Can't complain! MM
  15. We actually have some light snow here in Tunbridge Wells, just enough to give a dusting. MM
  16. I am at Aylesford at the moment. Just had a squally downpour that had a hint of wintry mix on my windscreen. Winter has arrived! MM
  17. I'll go for 4.9c this month on the basis that it gets colder as the month progresses. MM
  18. It probably is wishful thinking for today, but it was very cold uppers over a warm North sea that helped cause the great snow event of 1991. So a warm N sea at this time of year is never a disadvantage as far as I am concerned! Was at Crowborough about an hour ago and had some very light "wintery mix"
