  1. Any ideas on what Steve murr means with deep snow for Midlands North does he mean north as in England or north as I us? Won't take first option as an answer ha! Latest BBC news weather looked fairly snowy for majority of Scotland tomorrow morning.
  2. SS you said that we shouldn't get hopes up when the UKMO was signalling cold because ECM and GFS weren't on board, now you say the mo were right with Atlantic winning out yet we had still got one week left AND GFS isnt seeing this? Confusing like always in here though I know which members to look out for. Can ECM gain some consistency, will be most interesting run of past days.
  3. What is the best model run from today for us? Based on snaw chances?
  4. I would have thought Scotland based on JMA? Or am I reading this wrong please correct my mistake if so.
  5. People jumped the ship too early as usual, although wouldnt rule anything out yet. JB tweeting good news regarding Strat. GEFS options are looking good (not all). Can we be disappointed though? We have in past 5 years winters experienced some great even unbelievably snow/cold minus 2011/12 season , similar pattern to 1994 across the pond lets hope we follow suit...
  6. Charts looking great ... so far! My question would be the chances of the winds shifting E to NE over coming days as would this not benefit Scotland and more so central belt? England do they not tend to fair better than ourselves from E winds? Lastly was 2009 and 2010 E or NE. Gracias my friends. (P.S 5 A SIDE FOOTBALL NEXT WEEK WILL BE A NO-GO FOR ME , NO THANKS!)
  7. Evening! I have noticed that the GLAAM forecast seems to be high , can i ask the effect of this and can this be good news? I was speaking to family friend who said to me regarding the UK winter weather to always keep eyes on the alps if its snowy weather you are after. Interesting. Anyway adios for the time. (Away to put on my suit as i take FIFA serious, wish me luck!)
  8. Merry Christmas everyone enjoy. Hoping for 8 foot of snaw for next 3 months like 47 winter, dosen't sound like much does it?
  9. Stay safe people, the only good news I can offer is the continued signal for cold weather and interesting post in Model Thread regarding New Year (the post was from Carinthian). Cheers
  10. Any links to the incoming radar , here in Glasgow had the odd rumble for past hour or two although need some snaw and quite frankly getting jealous with all these posts about snaw falling ha! Cheers
  11. Wow big drop AO forecast, good news I would think! Also NAO going slightly negative.
  12. Being lazy here, was this the correct thread in which someone posted the TV listings the other day based the UK weather? Thanks in advance.
  13. Stoke v Man Utd, skysports 1 the noise from the hail/rain was unreal, ref has taking players off immediately.
  14. Does BUS still post in this thread? Haven't seen any of posts in good while?
  15. Same here headphones in enjoying the The Beatles and bang! Unreal.
  16. What the hell or should I say this is like hell! Loudest and most intense rain/wind/thunder storm ever man!
  17. The snow flakes are huge! This should be us not them, can I take this to court?
  18. Snow and Skysports update... Turn over to Skysports 4 heavy snow has resulted in Galastaray v Juve to be postponed. Turkey of all places!
  19. Anyone with SkySports turn over to Skysports 3 the snow is unbelievable!
  20. Cheers man, thats my early xmas present for myself out the window , ah well, was going to purchase "not by fire but ice" by Robert Felix but the price is touch to high to say the least!
  21. Thanking you HS, I will purchase the original version as I have the 2010 one which was very good. Thanks again bud
  22. Since it's really quiet in here thought this would appropriate time to post Is there any books out there that look at winters of UK/Europe of the past or even books based on the severe winters experienced?
  23. Some great pics of the snaw can be found on this website ... sadly its the 1962/63 winter! Maintaining the hope. http://www.jflude.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=70 Oh and lastly this - "Rain in Scotland and Northern Ireland, associated with a deep depression near Iceland, spread to all districts between the 5th - 8th turning to snow over much of the higher ground in Scotland" Regarding 1962/63 winter again (you can see the similarities though)
  24. Only hope at this moment is JB latest twitter updates about UK regarding Xmas Week, that post SS looks slightly positive/neutral not complete turnaround and then dropping around the 16th.
  25. Thanking you LS and BUS , i need to get my eyes on these 62/63 charts, is it really too much to ask to have one only similar winter to 62/63!! We could be in serious trouble with these winds and possibly snow to lower levels , these hope nothing too serious.
