  1. while you enjoy the rain , sleet and snow .. here all is calma .. happy hols
  2. this is my 15th dry day in a row .. equealing the longest dry spell here in my observational life of 32 years .. something to remember from this winter after all ! .... and then it drizzled ...
  3. Hi quest4peace .. I would still suggest that all anomalies over 4C are highlighting missing ice cover ,, they are all directly adjacent to negative anomalies .. However I agree that the waters north of Scotland and east of Iceland are incredibly warm considering .. maybe the heat is needed by the blooming algae .?
  4. and I suppose this thread's dead when BFTV stops reporting ice growth .. glad to see your comments and update and re WUWT (and global warmists).. when you have an agenda the 'truth' can be made out of anything ..
  5. well it looks like the arctic ocean has turned into a giant iced over puddle ..but ice must crack ! Brilliant pics ,Grey Wolf !.. and I agree the ice has never been more at risk in my lifetime but surely this is the most exciting thing happening in or to the global climate in our generation ? If ice has to melt so that giant algal blooms can harvest CO2 AND THIS IS A FAILSAFE to maintain a global balance (for example), I for one am glad to be an interested observer of the consequences at a time of such available observations and thoughts as are shared on this thread ps .. I did not knowingly capitalize 'and this is a failsafe' ..!!!
  6. 10th dry day .. I do need to water my plants but my water pump is drained awaiting a thaw of the system and my longest dry spell of 15 days is under threat .. a good record to break !
  7. And I have enjoyed the 8th dry day in a row with good prospects for the next 8 .. and after 11 wet months it's a pleasure as satisfying as a good 6 inches .. of snow
  8. Hi, Q4P .. looks to me more like the anomaly caused by missing sea ice .. air over open ocean being much warmer than over ice . This is the prime cause of the dramatic temperature anomalies in the arctic since the great melt began .
  9. this is a prize winner Watsy .. thanks for sticking it up
  10. This time the charts and my opinions combine so be ready Be Cause ...
  11. Some say winter's over ..I am wondering is it really just beginning ?
  12. get the thermometers at the ready .. coldest nights could be yet to come ..in March ..
  13. glaD TO FIND THIS THREAD BACK .. one of the few that drew me to this site an exciting year of ice watching ahead if at this stage very thin and very cracked . So keep up the good work BFTV and GW and all serious contributors ... Thanks ..
  14. welcome back .. to a sunny dry fortnight .. just what we all really need
  15. talking of late snow .. in 1947 the snow was well over hedge high in Inishowen on the 17th March .. my mother made it back home near Carndonagh helped by two wealthy workers returning from the shipyards in Belfast .. they were showing everyone their white fivers . a weeks wage in the big city !!!
  16. good morning .. here an inch of rain and a foot of snow in northern Spain little winter to our north and east .. to our south and west a glorious feast .
  17. its not easy living in S Tyrone .. even Big Lad has escaped they made the border too porous lol and radio says a lot of doubt @ the forecast for Sunday ... and the World at One has failed to follow the pips not forecasted lololol
  18. Yeas .. all the glorious snow out west is following everyone's wishes and heading for Spain and North Africa .. thats the wishes of the model followers who seem to believe only the North and East are potential sources of winter weather. Friends have just completed a pilgrimage in Spain and have walked thru deep Atlantic snow for much of the last 6 weeks and it could have been ours to enjoy .. we are closer to it's source 'surrounded by colder waters etc etc .. I call myself be cause because I [we] live in a Quantum universe where our thoughts are creative and so we decide our weather much more than is realized .. ravens flying overhead as I type are loudly affirming this .. Am finding posts are being removed [edited] since I suggested weather model output was an art that thought itself a science . nothing like limiting diversity and opinion Also if Su Campo is still here I am happy to learn much more about what science makes of the weather ..until a few months ago I listened religiously to the shipping forecast as my mental weather map for @ 40 years so I do not know how to bring info from other sites etc only my own thoughts .. just sussed how to quote you all a few days ago ! Anyway I say thank you all who have been creating this community and glad to have found you and would love to connect with you all in person .. more ravens shouting 'get back to potting snowdrops' .. where and when you come together .. just must add .. I have not been censored on this thread .. [not yet] LOL
  19. Have a good trip and only 1 foot snow expected for Boston.. enjoy the cold !!!
  20. or an up down split with us poor bottom dwellers getting nothing ...
  21. for me it's the cold sea that causes more snow in spring .. it certainly used to before the art of modelling tried to call itself a science
