  1. 3.4c this morning with drizzle blowing in strong wind, Been down by the river and already the windchill is uncomfortable, just happy to get home out of the chill.

Yesterday was early spring, today already feels back to mid winter, Every winter I tell myself that living 8 miles from coast is far enough away for some snow,

Today telling myself 8 miles might be close enough to coast to get some overnight snow from the low in channel, good.gif

  2. TBH, model watching the past 24 hours including the latest hi-res output suggests that there is an increasing chance of a lot of people in here being disappointed if it's laying snow they're after....Everything seems to be trending south from my viewpoint, maybe a lucky few along the south coast might see something, and up over Dartmoor.....North of a line Exeter - Southampton looks pretty much dry.......Still, that's the viewpoint from the model output, what happens in reality remains to be seen....I'm not trying to dampen the mood in here, just trying to be realistic

Looks like Radar watching tomorrow night, Radaritis ; inflammation of finger joints, caused by constent tightly crossed fingers whilst watching radar,
  3. @snow is falling. U might be able to read charts how ever there r those who can't read charts and that's where gibby does an excelent job. Maybe u should do a daily summery.

Gibby gives first class easy to read overview of the charts, AWD [southwest region] also gives clear chart summery, These guys put lots of time and work in the production of there updates, These forums are lucky to have the benefit of there excellent insights,,,,,There are many other contributers who also spend many hours giving there views and I thank them all,.............Great deal of my work includes foreward planning for outdoor events, I find this forum invaluable,,,,
  4. Hard to believe what's coming to be honest.

Lovely day at the moment, sunny, quite pleasent

To think that in 36 hours time i could be in the middle of a blizzard,INCREDIBLE .

Lovely afternoon here,Sun out and reasonable temps, Large group people out on guided Cerne valley walk, There is walk booked next week with hopes of being connected to Red nose day, Don't think many people will turn up for that, which would be shame,,
  5. I'm looking forward to this event but sadly, i think accumulations at lower levels will be pretty poor.

Fully agree, but nice see snow falling this time of year, and after the days of slate grey skies we recently went through,be change for something more interesting,,,Lets hope areas that have missed out, will see some falling snow,,,,Wildlife will be little confused, but will do my bit to at least help the birds, Hedgehogs came out of hibernation, but think they be ok,
  6. worth noting that this warning is really only for south coastal counties currently....nothing really from a line north of Taunton - Salisbury - Winchester.......still, these warnings are all based on model output, and we all know that subtle variances right up to T0 can have a huge effect on who has what good.gif

As it stands at the moment, I'd say you're in a good spot

The times this winter been told in good spot/ sweet spot,,,,If had all come off, would have had major outbreak of Acne,,,
  7. I do however cling on to a memory of a couple of years ago when meto and NAE + all forecasts had it totaly missing our region with GFS going against this only to find that as front aproached it was clearly battering our whole region good.gif Think it might have been 2009 but not sure.

Last min northward shift covering the whole region would be lovely. air_kiss.gif

Saying that they all trended south so lets wait until 12z

Think remember that MULL,,,We had no warnings, no prospect of snow, I watched it on radar getting closer to region and started snowing here about 11pm, The Snow even moved into Devon,,,,Met office updated warning after that midnight when been snowing for over 1 hour,,If I remember we went from no warning straight to Amber, Think was 2009,but might be wrong
  8. Reading Ian's latest post in the Mad Disc thread seems there's a defo chance of snow for some of our region.

Although not in UK from tomorrow hope some cop it on Monday/Tuesday.

Ironic that i've waited 26 years for a snowy channel low to reappear and when one might turn up i'm on hols off the coast of Africa!

I hope it upgrades and turns into a 'South West Classic'!

Have nice break and enjoy the Sungood.gif
  9. NO! NO! NO! I am properly tantruming now, throwing my toys out of my pram and causing such a scene the neighbours will call the police in a minute.

I don't want any bloody snow, I've just bought a new (to me) Alfa Romeo, yes an Alfa, a gorgeous piece of Italian lushness that I have saved for for ages and I need to be able to drive it and set free my inner petrol head, I cannot do this with sodding snow about.

Please, someone, tell me the snow won't happen. sad.png

Should have got yourself a SKODA,,,,,Cold ,snow not make any difference, Don't work whatever the weathersearch.gif

  10. Just for fun....

I've looked at all the model output, with their variances and parameters. I've fed this data into my dual core laptop super computer using my secret algorithmic deciphering software, and have after hours of painstaking coding have managed to pinpoint the northern extent of Monday's snow....It will run along the hard shoulder of the southern carriageway of the M4 causing ajpoolshark to chortle away to himself....It's western extent will be 1.7 meters the wrong side of TwisterGirl81's fence line near Exter & it's southern extent will be 3.7meters north of Mapantz's garden near Wareham causing an explosion of wrath and expletive language rarely seen in this thread bomb.gifw00t.gif

Can your super computer show if poor old Cerneman could have little snow in back garden please? Don't mind wrath and expletives directed in my direction. Will just turn computer off for week, till fuss calms downgood.gif
  11. Not funny, please be respectful that there are some people here who don't see animals as peices of flesh, very bad taste.

Anyway back to the weather, I'd say we are definately going to see snow and I thing the southwest is going to be hit hard! You heard it here first.

Fully agree on subject of proposed deer cull, I will fight that, Enhance word satire, Proposal needs to be brought to public attention.

Hope you right about the snow, but we been here before,,,,,,,So fingers crossed
