I agree. Enjoy the charts for what they are currently showing but don't take them too seriously (at this stage). IF, in a few days time they are still showing a similar outcome I might then allow myself a smidgeon of optimism.

Well, have just finished my morning's preparations for the oncoming mini-ice age post 21st Feb: Shovels x 24 (check) Bread x 72 loaves (check) Milk (full fat) x 132 pints (check) Huskies x 4 + 2 extra large sleighs (check) I'll get the pot noodles and salt in early next week before bunkering down for the next three weeks.

Have had a couple of experiences throughout my life. So not really so much a 'believer'; more that I just know that we all have a soul that exists and carries on beyond this physical body. The research conducted by Dr Michael Newton is interesting. Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls being two books I'd recommend. Paranormal Lockdown was also a decent programme to watch.

Heavy hail shower quickly followed by a heavy snow shower while out in Ringwood today (around 11.20am). Happy now for the rest of the year!.

The MAD thread is a place to be treated with extreme caution. Tend to only read the posts of knowledgeable, prudent, sensible posters as the rest annoy me beyond relief. Reacting to every model run instead of responding and looking for trends (and not anything beyond a three to four days).

Refuse to be drawn in by these models. Too many times of being lead down the garden path only for it all to end in disappointment.

To be honest, at the present time I'd happily take a few bitterly cold, dry, sunny days (with some frosts at night) instead of all this grey, damp rubbish. In any case, always very difficult to get anything in the way of snow down here on the south coast so always keep the expectation levels realistic. It'd be nice though if those further inland saw a decent snow event before winter's done for 2017/18.

These models seem to suck so many poor souls (desperate for snow) in. The whole pattern is rinse and repeat and predictable. The issue is so many on the MAD thread were days ago ramping and claiming a very cold spell this week was all but 'nailed on'.

Felt yesterday afternoon that this cold spell would downgrade. Just a question of by how much.

I wonder whether this prospective cold spell will downgrade significantly over the next couple of days? Not being fooled like previous output.

Some folk never learn and seem to keep being suckered in, year in, year out, by the models. All ending in a huge amount of despondency and disappointment that the 'nailed on' cold spell never verifies.
