  1. Even in an Easterly like this one it can get marginal right along coast at times, especially places like Immingham where there's little or no elevation but I should think you'll be fine this time, at least for a few days anyway.
  2. I'm on 95% certain that this will happen, I won't be at 100% till I see wind switch to an Easterly though which looks like it could be later tomorrow.
  3. I wouldn't be worried about that this far out, there's certain to be some locations seeing more snow than others but it's hard to pinpoint exact locations right now.
  4. Them apps are useless, always way out with temperatures and symbols half of time. I only use my BBC weather app for keeping an eye on destinations abroad that I visit. They seem to be more accurate with Benidorm than Sheffield.
  5. Just about, its like being 3-0 at football but there's still 10 minutes to final whistle, still in back of your mind that something could go wrong.
  6. Towering snow showers won't show up till much nearer time, possibly down to 24 hours or less before. Radar watching is what we'll all be on by weekend.
  7. That's what as given us large snowfalls in previous similar set ups to this, we should also look to any fronts trying to push up from South next week which would help things though there's always a risk that this could eventually lead to less cold air spreading in from South East.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised to see a spell of sleet and snow during Saturday before real fun and games kick off.
  9. When I finished work at North side of Sheffield at 10 o'clock last night I was expecting to get in car with temperature on car saying something like 4 or 5'C but it was only 1'C rising to 2'C when I got home to East side of Rotherham. Still plenty of Snow about on ground, hope it can just hang on till weekend.
  10. Just seen Paul Hudson's tweet from this lunchtime, he seems to think it's not nailed and explained that it could even be opposite from beast from East with South or South Westerly winds model he showed. I wouldn't class Paul as mild ramper so we shall see.
  11. Just what we expected really. It will be all gone by morning, especially if that band of rain to West comes our way.
  12. Yeah I know this because both my daughter's live at coast, one at Scarborough and other at Skegness. Many a times in Spring we've set off with temps touching 20'C here in Rotherham and when we've got to coast it's been a very chilly 9'C with breeze off sea even in sunshine.
  13. That's the North Sea for you, even in the big winter snow storms of years ago coastal areas have some times had cold rain or sleet whilst us further inland have been buried under a foot of Snow.
  14. The front looks to have slowed down now in its Northwards movement, if only it had done this over us. Sunday seems a long way off, hopefully the cold will return much earlier than forecast.
  15. The Easterlies we've had so far haven't been a true Easterly with isobars stretching back to Eastern Mediterranean, add this to North sea temperatures being a little higher than normal it just tips it against snow falling nearer to coast. You should be ok with this next Easterly.
  16. Not bad for us East of Rotherham that can sometimes miss out whilst Sheffield get loads of Snow.
  17. All done and dusted now looking at radar, front came in faster than expected, I suppose we're lucky to get an snow with this happening.
  18. Set ups like this in past haven't picked up on showery activity till nearer time, even forecasters on beeb have been slow to pick up on it, starting off with a forecast of Snow flurries and we have ended up with a foot of Snow here East of Pennines.
