  1. At least with the ridges it gives things time to dry out, last 3 days were depression, depression, depression.
  2. I think us in South Yorkshire will just escape the worst of the high winds, hopefully the low will track over our region with the worst of the winds over Southern England. If it tracks a little further North than it is showing at moment then things could get nasty here and if it tracks further South there's possibility that we could see something wintery.
  3. My guess is that N Ireland will miss out on the worst of the winds.
  4. I hope not because if North Wales gets hit us across in South Yorkshire would probably in line to be hit by the strongest of the winds. Stay to South Eunice stay South.
  5. Going to Southwell races on Friday, I do hope that the weather is nice.
  6. That's good news, I hope it continues to downgrade, storm force winds is nothing to get excited about for me.
  7. Weather bomb?? I thought it was the media like Express and Sun that used these sort of words for our weather, a very deep area of low pressure or stormy is what I would call it.
  8. I much prefer it like this to the mild wet and windy weather off Atlantic. Crisp cold and sunny in winter is next best to heavy snowfall for me.
  9. I'll settle for yesterday's set up for remainder of winter, cold Westerly winds with frequent snow showers, I know it's little use to those in South East but it's great for us Yorkshire folks.
  10. Hilly areas to West might do well but I'm not expecting anything more than a bit of sleety wet snow that'll quickly turn to rain around here.
  11. I got paid out on my bet on a White Christmas at Leeds Bradford airport. I guess they had a few flakes just before midnight or possibly earlier in day when they were a bit of wintry stuff about.
  12. Though unusually warm 15-17c wouldn't break any records, I'm sure 20'c was reached in North Wales and a couple of other places a good few years ago around New year.
  13. January 2022 could quite easily turnout to be a cold month, we should all know that by now reliable time frame with computer models is at very most 5 days. 5 days doesn't even take us up to January.
  14. Hoping for a bit of Snow at Leeds Bradford airport as I've had a little bet on a White Christmas at that location, a single flake will do.
  15. Bitter cold from East as always been rare, its not a yearly event, on average it is every 4 years according to Paul Hudson, I agree with him, you can get them 2 or maybe even 3 years running but you can then wait up to 8 years for next one.
  16. IF it drifts south east it should draw down colder air as it slides to South of UK.
  17. Its all but melted already down here in East Dene, weren't that much anyway apparently. Driving home from work at Ecclesfield there's a massive difference across our region, just a few hundred feet higher at Thorpe Hesley there's several inches but hardly anything once you get down to bottom of Wortley Road near town.
  18. Sensational headline trying to attract clicks from folks. Very similar to the headlines you see during winter saying "arctic blast set to bring 100 days of Snow.
  19. I agree, anything above 21'c is too warm for working in, I love the sunny weather though without the heat, especially during working week. I'm glad tomorrow looks to be a bit cooler up here. They can keep that 30'C darn sarf.
