  1. I think some people might be hoping and/or expecting a repeat of last summer, extremely unlikely, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a cool and wet summer with some areas not getting above 30'c at any point.
  2. I was down on Costa del Sol last month, the whole area was exceptionally dry for time of year, very little rainfall throughout the winter, big contrast to when I went in March last year and it was raining most days.
  3. Just come back from Spain, Costa Del Sol and weather was very good, higher than average temperatures, 29'c last weekend with wall to wall sunshine most days. The month of March as been second warmest and driest in last 60 years. Complete contrast to when I went last March and it was cold and wet.
  4. I've no plans to buy an electric car, I can't afford one for starters. Plus I keep reading bad reviews about them letting people down when weather is cold because battery drains rapidly leaving people stuck on long journeys and when they pull in at service stations to charge there's either a long queue or charging points aren't even working. In Sheffield city centre charging points charges have been doubled in price. This after now charging non electric vehicles that aren't privately owned, I guess charging everyone is around corner.
  5. Came out of work at 10 o'clock at Ecclesfield and car was coated in ice. It was a struggle to even open door. Must have been extremely wet that snow and temperature must have dropped soon as it started clearing.
  6. Sleet and Snow showers heading this way from North West, Snow falling and temp of 1.5c in Preston Lancs posted in North West group.
  7. Yellow weather warning been issued for South Yorkshire for later tomorrow into Tuesday for Sleet and Snow.
  8. Yellow weather warning issued for South Yorkshire for later tomorrow and into Tuesday for Sleet and Snow.
  9. Late April 1981 sticks out as being very wintry, Snowed for 3 days here in South Yorkshire with around a foot falling in hilly areas with snowdrifts several feet deep, temperature in Sheffield city center was only 1'c on the 23rd of April. 10. Paul Hudson just said that the areas that have had sleet and rain today will get snow overnight.
  11. Possible Thundersnow? Just seen a video on bbc of a Tornado touching down in Shetlands during a heavy snow shower, I've never heard of this happening and locals up there are saying same.
  12. Doncaster will do better tonight as the low pressure moves further East and wind swings around to a more northerly.
  13. Daughters just said it's snowing at Scarborough where she lives, if it's snowing on coast it boads well for us inland.
  14. I think low lying areas will join in the fun more when low tracks further East and winds switch to a more northerly. Might have to wait till tonight for this though.
  15. I noticed this when we had that snow in March 2018, temps were well below freezing but the snow seemed to thawing on pavements, especially those that catch plenty of sun during daylight hours.
  16. They were a lot of uncertainty in forecast for later this week on Friday, it's becoming a little clearer now that the milder conditions will push North after a spell of Snow. Might still be a slow process which would see a lot of snow in favoured locations. Rain or Snow it's what we need after a long dry spell, we don't want the water board having panic attacks again.
  17. Proper ice day here in South Yorkshire, just come home from work and it's minus 1 right in Rotherham town center, minus 2 up hill towards Sheffield.
  18. Then your chances of snow is drastically reduced. Whilst we've got this cold air right across UK there's always a chance of seeing some snow. Atlantic taking over with fronts coming in from West the chance of snow is reduced, especially across our region.
