3 main areas on the radar at the mo with the front trying to slide in from the Northeast, zone of increasing showers in central areas into Fife and the zone in the northwest I expect that will give us a chance to see some flakes by tonight as it comes SE
Later in the week .. yes I did actually mouth the words holy f....
How reliable is Icon compared to the rest of the models ? That looks like a day of chaos along the M8 if that came off

Also very interesting watching the charts for end of the week, Friday showing up a massive snow event if it comes off….
It’ll be a high ground and away from the coast event, could be a sleet fest for some on Friday as the colder uppers mix out

Looking good for Aberdeenshire you are going to get lots of snow

ECM is very snowy for northern England Thursday Friday and brings a better northerly flow so more convective showers Tuesday also
UKMO gives us a complete pasting
I’m liking the look of those charts fingers crossed this is the route the low takes

A cold snowy spell ( perhaps severe ?) Is nearly upon us..is it time for a fun completion ? Snow depths guesses for a few of our Kilties favoured locations ?
Northern Scotland will get plastered with the white stuff a foot or more in Braemar is a good bet the central belt and South Scotland won’t see much at all in a Northerly unless there are troughs in the flow which even then tend not to amount to much

No they weren’t. 2018 non event in the north west
Yes they were maybe you should look at the old charts!!! 2 feet of snow in the Central belt of Scotland and even 1 foot in Edinburgh city centre under -15c uppers, the charts today are not as cold or snowy!

No worries, mistakes happen
Chilly surface inversion under high pressure next week, temperatures below average but it's no -15C isotherm BFTE the model was suggesting only yesterday.
It was never going to be the model was out on it’s own with the crazy charts,,this looks more favourable for next week. Chilly with night frosts returning

Hmm…. My work seem to be preparing for extreme weather Sunday into Tuesday…
What forecast do they have as it seems to be becoming drier with the colder air apart from the usual suspects

Horrible, damp, drizzly, rainy afternoon. Hard to imagine any scenario where it snows here later!
Rain and sleet for us at best with a NE wind sadly
Hope everyone has a prosperous New Year when it arrives
