  1. That t120 ukmo chart very much like a chart i saw on this thread for feb 1991, im not stating the same will happen just pointing it out. any ideas where i can find a chart for feb 91 just to see if im going mad or not
  2. That and Fridays, had 5 heavy snowfalls in the last 5 weeks and they have all been on a sunday and friday, also one on a wednesday aswell. i think this is a long way from over and as with the previous snow events this winter the details have changed right up to the very event itself. so all to play for i feel and will be changes with every run..
  3. Post of the winter this for me. if only we could all have this much self control in the future when model watching i think this place would be a nicer forum without all the told you so post and the end of winter stuff that causes so many disagreements between people. As for moving to higher ground to increase your chances im with you on that score, i moved from about 20m asl to 250asl and a few hundred miles north and ive seen more snow since i did that.
  4. Many thanks, will read in more detail when have more time. but think i get the jist of things.
  5. Sorry but what does any of that mean?? not meaning to sound rude but as a newish member this just caught my eye but have no idea what it means.
  6. If anything the block on the gfs 18z is slightly more north than the ecm 12z only a few miles but still not the winter ending shift south that some posts on here tonight would lead you to believe. funny as those members were nowhere to be seen on the 12z shift north. hmmmmmmmm
  7. Many thanks to those that have taken time to answer my question from earlier. looking forward to the pub run tonight and hope that the shift of the pattern north from the 12z continues.
  8. Hi Steve can you or anybody else able to tell me how to work out what 2m temps will be from the 850 upper temps. many thanx in advance
  9. So an upgrade on the ecm 12z now if the gfs 18z continues and then the 00z do the same then this mornings doom n gloom will have faded into a distant memory, really goes to show that making massive things out of just one run really is not the way to go.... how many of this morning na sayers will be back here ramping the cold and snow up if any further north corrections happen before the morning??
  10. Good to see you back Mr Murr, with this slight shift north on the 12z i assume that we will be getting your input on the 18z?? Just goes to show that one run is just that... 3/4 south shifts and its end of the world 3/4 north and its party time, thats why i love this forum...
  11. You can just see the headline on front page ' uk to plunge into mini ice age'
  12. Agree with this post and many others re uppers, how many times do we see posts saying lets get the cold here first and then worry about the other bits after. so lets get the cold here before we start saying its not good enough etc.
  13. has the GFS been anything other than underwhelming all winter? it is fast becoming the joke model that is run to just make the likes of us laugh as we wait the ukmo and ecm runs....
  14. Cracking stuff Ian and once again many thanks to you and the guys at the meto.
  15. Cheers for the reply. learning all the time. thank you for your time taken in your reply.
  16. Thanks Steve, but i was talking about the bbc temps on the further ahead, but thanks for the time you took to post a reply. any idea as to why the bbc do this?
  17. Always confuse me them further ahead days as they always have two diff high n low temps and they are always way ott. can anyone throw any light on this?
  18. Your computer is a bit twitchy? is it a GFS computer by any chance? Agree we dont want anything going se'wards apart from that low in the atlantic.
  19. We have not had a greenland block all winter and so far many off us have seen ice days and a few good snow events, its in FI and we have done well enough this winter without one so no need to panic.
