  1. Well some amazing days coming up if its cold and snow that floats your Boat, i just looked at the BBC weather page for my area and it gives 30hours of heavy snow then another 24hours of light snow upto sunday evening, now i like my snow but seriously 54 hours of snow??? best get the JCB ready to dig the village out.....
  2. Time to tune into your local BBC weather forecast..... fingers and toes crossed everybody... Well she only went as far as to say more and more likely that we will see some disruptive snow.. Good old main BBC forecast shows the front stalling right IMBY and many others too this is starting to look serious now, aslo not looking good for the south west areas with a lot of heavy rain here to start.
  3. Happy days for the people in the Midlands, not so sure our friends in the west south/west will be to happy with the rain they may get even after the dry spell of late im sure the last thing they need is two days of heavy rain.
  4. Yep and i would bet that even after that many chances it will still be wrong come the day.....
  5. Looks good to me Cloud 10, a nice wintry end to this winter.. then after this a warm up would be most welcome and the start of hopefully a long warm sunny 6 months before we find ourselves back chasing freeze after freeze....
  6. Yep how many times have we been here before this winter? maybe one last cold shot for the UK then some warmth would be welcome by many, its been a long winter and many parts of the UK have seen ok snow and cold, as always some have missed out and for those that have it must be very frustrating to keep seeing the charts promise and not produce the goods.. i would welcome some warm weather after next week as my local coal delivery guy has had more than enough of my cash this winter... one last shot then can we have something hot please!!!
  7. From sunshine to Snow and lots of twists and turns in the forecast is what the weather girl on east midlands today just said, shall be looking forward to that forecast later..
  8. oh the memories of the early 80's winters, then the horror of the late 80's early 90's (91 aside) and then early 2000's were nasty, but then the most recent winters have given us some great weather but the summers have defo got worse since the record breaker of 2006....just wondered if anybody in here could see any major pattern change that could have led to this....
  9. Thanks TEITS for the explanation was just thinking its strange over the last 5/6 years that we dont seem to get a summer or a real winter, just a sort of spring/autumn mix all year round with just the odd bit of warmth or odd bit of cold....guess im just longing for an early 80's winter and summer you know when summers were hot and winter was cold and snowy..
  10. Not sure if this is relevant but with all the if only it were jan posts i was thinking over the past 5/6 years the seasons seem to have shifted and we seem to be always saying if only these charts were in winter when its summer and then if only it were summer when its winter....
  11. The most horrible on record?? Horrible how?? I for one am enjoying this late winter spell of cold and snow far better than the horrible warmth we had last March
  12. Just had the same here, didnt last long but was good to see, no sign of anything warm in any output at the moment, not as cold as today but not mild seems to be the way things are going.
  13. Afternoon all, very cold day here in the Peaks warmest temp ive recorded today is -1c and had light snow blowing in strong winds from about 5am with more to come i feel, a slight covering has stuck around all day, have just been to the nearest shop in the next village some 5 miles away and they have no snow at all. looks like this LP is causing a headache for the met. i feel that some members in the south will wake to a winter wonderland in the morning. my 4 year old woke this morning claiming " its Christmas its snowing"..
  14. yeah but every cloud has a silver lining, and lets face it most of us would endure a bad summer if it ment a big fat greenie high for winter.. Edit: sorry ment most of us that like cold n snow...
  15. Now if that could just stay where it is until november/december then we could be well in....
  16. No sign of anything warm or even a little bit warm from the ECM a real good set of charts if snow and cold are your thing, if you like warm weather look at the summer holiday brochure in your mag rack..
  17. Well I for one hope the south get plastered in the white stuff... they have missed out to many times this year.. of course would love a bit up here too but not to much as steep hill to the pub gets very tricky in the snow.
  18. Same here last April 4th 30cm of snow from early evening into the night, caused mayhem in my village and surrounding areas...and that was from this chart http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/2012/avn/Rhavn00120120404.png
  19. No joke if you go to there web page and look at front page its in the bottom left corner......
  20. well ive just seen the front page of the star and they have gone with "record warm march for uk"....... lets just hope the express gets wind of this and goes with it on its front page tomorrow, then we can relax knowing that the cold is nailed on. Edit: sorry it actually says " HOTTEST MARCH EVER"
