Found it strange that they are still mentioning it as a chance going by the comments on here it looks like a bust?
I havnt seen models just taking it as a bust as most here are saying it ain’t happening. Met text doesn’t mention it so I guess it’s accurate.
-
Ah well that’s a bust then for us u all say. no point looking at models then. Huge downgrade for us then MS. Ah well. Save me looking st models rest of dayI I see met eireann talking about rain in places. Downgrade for them too then.

Nope have to agree with that. Saw more snow and colder weather on a NW’ly ?
22 minutes ago, BlastFromThePastbuzz said:Met Éireann forecaster on radio just now said the North West won't know what we're talking about. Bodes well lol
I would say thats accurate. East Northern Ireland might do well but NW looks poor to be honest.

This SSW has been just so strong (record breathtakingly) its overcooked everything and has meant the high drifts away much quicker than initially thought.
Yep. Does this more times than nout during any touch of a SSW. Flatters to deceive. Or should I be more exact not the SSW but the beast from the east! Stupid name !

Noticed the showers pepped up for west and south of NI with east dry. Ironic given it’s an easterly wind. Doesn’t quite work for the east no matter what direction it comes from ??
Wind is NE. That’s the problem. Should be more easterly tomorrow which should help. But this so called beast from the east is horrific. And I won’t be chasing a SSW again with such verve in future years.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Further snow showers, occasionally heavy, together with strong winds on Wednesday night and Thursday. Staying cold at the end of the week with snow at times, especially in the east.
Yep no mention of dry there.

Aye, me bad.
I let the run get to T+72 (midday Friday) and it didn't look like moving any further North......then it did!
?? this getting to you.

Don't give up hope yet................
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Frequent snow showers, strong winds with blizzard conditions and some disruption likely, especially in eastern areas on Thursday. Less snow showers on Friday, but some disruptive snow possibly on Saturday.
My point exactly but this isn’t showing on bbc graphics which I can’t get my head around.

We'll know by this time tomorrow weather we are getting anything much.
Seems virtually impossible to get snow i the east from any direction. U can be sure if it was SE something would get in the way if that as well. Strange because newsline weather said accumulations in eadtbcery possible but clearly didn’t show any showers. Very strange indeed.

The frost is bright white, the cloud is lighter white and the snow speckly white!
It didn't look very good for us anyway.
Very strange going by met office text forecast. I honestly think they are crap. Not looking too good for us in that case. Again I question these warnings if that’s the case. Utter nonsense.
-
I cannot for love nor money understand what the bbc graphics are showing. Is it frost, cloud or snow showers moving over the north. Awful service.
-
Guys if u look at met warnings I think u will be a tad happier. It has moved north and is getting very close to a lot of you. Also been extended to sat night and likelihood has gone up a tick. Some of you will be in the game for a blizzard I would guess. Fingers crossed.

Shower activity certainly picking up. Keep an eye out for streamers forming.
Add to that meto warning for fri has been updated to midnight on sat and it’s mentions possibly further bands of snow coming up from south after. Also edge north a bit which is a good sign that they don’t believe it is going to edge south. Likelyhood tick has gone up a level to. But who knows.
Parts of south England in amber warning. Could get one ourselves maybe but that’s just wishful thinking. Hailstones now as I type

We snow shower here now.
Oo. And another.

It would be highly typical of this winter that a) the low went too south, b) the front fizzled before it reached the north, c) it was marginal for lower levels

Well GFS 6z has the North back in the game with plenty of showers and then a very snowy looking Friday.
Still no consensus yet.
It sure has. Which is a good sign because it is getting nearer the time now. All is def not lost we just got to keep the faith this winter will go out with a bang then onto lovely springtime hopefully.

euro 4 isnt good viewing for northern ireland, nothing at all for the next two days, and anything it is showing is rain lol also it isnt half as cold as forcasts said it would be last night, 4 degrees in belfast this morning. was supposed to be -5 at home last night but heard there was barley a frost
Ah well. We will see how it goes. If it’s sunny that will do me nicely. Get stuff done around garden. Win win situation for me.

The front from this system not expected to hit us until Saturday if at all, any snow we get will be showers.
Any chance of getting an update from your boffins in Aldergrove?
They are worse than useless MS. Either disruptive snow or none at all.
Though I’m surprised meto have extended warning for us till sat if it’s not expected to us. Maybe they see something we don’t. Time will tell I guess.

And heading into the north later. Looks good. Meto update for Northern Ireland thurs updated to include more of the north now as well.

Think we will be ok MS. Meto updated warning into sat so still looking ok. Before then looks great anyway especially in the east. For once!

I'm 80% sure this low will be corrected South but that doesn't say there won't be streamers setting up with the isobars tightening Thursday Friday through the weekend pushing the showers way inland.
You could be right and anything could happen. We will see what the morning runs bring but it’s just a strange run for me.

So it’s a bust for end of week then. Ah well. Warning will be removed then.
