I have lost confidence in trying to predict future weather patterns by observing the behaviour of seagulls. I'm now using beavers. If a beaver cuts his supply of wood, and prepares his house 1 month earlier than in a mild winter it is a sure sign that it will be a harsh winter. I'm now off to find a beaver to ask him if he has built his house earlier than usual.
I just saw a seagull, this is a sure sign that we will be getting that Beast from the East after all. Yes I know I live in Lowestoft where there are thousands of seagulls but that doesn't matter.
I did the same thing, told everyone we were heading for Arctic conditions. Never, ever, ever again. Why do they bother looking at these models? It must be some kind of addiction problem.
Went to work today and informed everyone that they should expect some dramatic weather next week for Lowestoft, the most easterly town in the UK, with lots of snow and Siberian temperatures hitting us from the east. "Where did you get this information?" they asked. From the Netweather Model Discussion I replied. I think I'll keep my head down on Monday.
Just had a quick read of the Model Output Discussion, as usual I'm still none the wiser about what the weather will be like next week. A bit milder in Lowestoft this morning, no frost on the car, which is a bonus.
