  1. If you want some action you should get down to The Eastbrook pub, it always worked for me.
  2. Rain alarm just went off. 23.5 kilometers away. I don't think I'll hold my breath.
  3. It's Fursty Ferret time. After a few of these any weather we get is alright with me.
  4. As I'm working over the Easter Holiday I have been making the most of my day off today. Just been over to Oulton Broad and took a few snaps. Would you Adam and Eve it there was a miniscule snow flurry while I was there.
  5. I just took a walk down to the most easterly point in the UK, it was so cold down there they should make it illegal. Low tide but still looked pretty spectacular.
  6. Those defences have been there for years, they actually work quite well, but the battering they have been getting over the last few weeks has taken its toll.
  7. You will be glad to know that Hopton is South-East Norfolk. I was in Cromer a few days ago and there were plenty of people surfing in the North Sea so might be worth taking your wetsuit.
  8. Just back from a quick trip to Hopton which is situated between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. This area is having all kinds of problems due to the constant easterly winds. Sea defences have smashed, path to what used to be a beach has collapsed, and the cliffs are in a very dangerous state. When I got there I saw lots of people from the environment agency and council workers standing around shaking their heads. There are a lot of property owners along there who are getting extremely concerned. I took a few pics but they don't really tell the full story.
  9. Summertime and the living is easy. Heatwave. Now thoroughly sick of this cold.
  10. The Triangle of Doom. So don't talk to us about only getting snow flurries, we're not listening.
  11. I forgot to mention earlier that my caravan at Corton (see top of the photo) is available for hire over the spring bank holiday. It has excellent uninterrupted views of the North Sea. Just remember not to have more than one person (no single big boned individuals) on the balcony at any one time as this can result in certain and immediate death.
  12. Last snap from my coastal erosion walk today. This easterly wind is good for one thing, the hang gliding guys can jump off the cliffs and fly around for hours.
  13. Another snap from my walk along the beach earlier. The top one is taken pointing towards Great Yarmouth from North Lowestoft, Yarmouth is just visible in the far distance, and if you use a magnifying glass it's possible to see our very own Captain walking on Yarmouth beach. The bottom photograph was taken from the Corton end of the beach looking towards Lowestoft. On the right of the picture you can see the rubbish that has been washed in from the sea, and in the distance you can see the mighty wind turbine Gulliver which doesn't appear to have been going round for more than a week. What a waste of good wind.
  14. Just back from a walk along North Beach in Lowestoft to the other side of Corton. North Beach has dropped dramatically, and Corton looks like it's getting ready to fall into the North Sea. Because I'm a bloke I ignored the warning signs telling me to not to attempt the coastal path at the far end of Corton, but halfway along I'd wished I had been a woman and hadn't been so stupid. Take it from me DO NOT ATTEMPT IT. I spoke to a lady who has lived here all her life and she told me that she has never seen it as bad as this. How long are these easterly winds going to last?
  15. I'm going for a stroll along the beach in a bit, could actually get a sun tan at the same time as getting frost bite. I'm now calling the Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Beccles gang The Triad Driad.
  16. Are you being serious? Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, and Beccles, or as we like to call it The Triad Driad has been without any snow forEVVVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRR.
  17. North Beach here in front of my house is looking a complete mess, I'll pop down there later and take a few snaps. The beach level has dropped around 8ft because of the constant easterly we have been having. I have a feeling that places like Corton will start to experience some serious erosion problems if this carries on much longer.
  18. We are possibly the driest place in the world at the moment (might be a slight exaggeration) and they keep plastering the roads here with salt. My car is now covered in it. I might even have to consider washing it.
  19. Another beautifully sunny but incredibly chilly day here on the East Coast. We now have so much salt on our roads they have turned pure white. We are drier than the Gobi Desert.
