  1. Can see the huge cumulonimbi over the Pennines. It's a pity it's not dark would make an interesting spectacle. Get the feeling we are going to miss out....again.
  2. Thunderflies, thrips or corn flies, whatever you call them, they are all over my windows.
  3. Why are the BBC treating Carol Kirkwood differently to the other forecasters? She seems to get all the plum jobs by the BBC.
  4. The latest FAX chart for midnight tonight shows a tough just behind the warm front.
  5. It doesn't matter how muggy it was, it doesn't escape the fact that it was a very mediocre day
  6. In the last 7 years, there have been 4 poorer summers than 1965 for Manchester according to the summer index.
  7. The real problem for this summer is that I don't think a high pressure has sat over the UK for any length of time, once this summer.

  9. First pre 8.30pm sunset for Manchester since 26th April
  10. Clouds at high levels going one way and the clouds at lower levels almost going in the opposite direction
  11. A lot of assumption here. The sunniest winter on record and the sunniest April on record in the last few months. Solar activity explain this? Are we sure that the next 3 cycles will be weaker? It was only 8 or 9 years ago the recent maximum was supposed to be exceptional.

  13. To me , it seems funny that someone who swims in rivers etc complaining about those air temperatures described and yet you will happily swim in water temperatures of the same equivalent or even less.
