  1. Looks a high base thunderstorm. These are the type than can cause forest fires.
  2. Are those threads costing the site, money? There is almost an economic logic being applied here. The traffic to those threads have dropped and if it were shops or businesses, you would shut down but they are not. If you are going to use traffic as an argument then what is the point of the Travel, Holidays and Days out forum? 8 threads in a year? The newest thread posted on that site was July last year.
  3. I might be able to see the woods through the trees if I can see the point of closing the threads? I don't see why they have to be closed because it is the quiet season? If they are not being posted frequently then why close them? Why is it necessary? Are they using up extra electrical power? Using up Mbs?Why is it necessary, that's what I don't get and being the quiet season, people don't frequently post in them is not really a good enough reason.
  4. That is a surprise 1993-94 on your list. I'm that surprised I'm going to say are you sure?We got about that amount you recorded from one snowfall during late February 1994 alone. It was one of the better winters of the 90s in terms of snow, at least around here.
  5. It seems to have been trend the last few months, any cold threat shown in the models so far out is reduce to virtually nothing when it gets here. Another example has just gone by. It has happened before but usually one or two threats survive but this season nothing is surviving. Looks like now a completely snowless spring.
  6. Looking at just good storms that happen in May, 18th May 1997 was a beauty. I remember the flashing and banging just as the early morning twilight of that Sunday was appearing. The day before
  7. I have to say, convective wise, what a disappointment the last few days have been around here. Yesterday was the best day but even then most people missed out. It looked good on the models but nothing. Today is another blank day.
  8. I have to say, convective wise, what a disappointment the last few days have been. Yesterday was the best day but even then most people missed out. It looked good on the models but nothing. Today is another blank day.
  9. 2014 alone Wettest January on record 7th wettest February on record Joint 8th warmest April on record
  10. Famous last words: I don't think it is going to be as warm as recent months. 11.9C
  11. Can still see just a little bit of twilight even now.
  12. Big heavy drops with a few hailstones thrown in. So it is there or thereabouts.
  13. 2011 was the 2nd warmest year on record but all 3 summer months were below the 1961-90 averages. We don't know but the statistical elastic band says to me we must be stretching it a bit now.
  14. Some cumulus congestus development to north of my location.
  15. Feels warmer today with classic thundery look to sky with altocumulus castellanus.
