  1. Summer 2003 was decent but it was nothing compared to 1995.Manchester Summer IndexSummers in order with the best at the top and the worst at the bottom 1976 3011995 2981983 2781955 2771911 2741984 2711959 2691975 2681949 2671989 2622013 260 1947 2551933 2511901 2491921 2492003 2471925 2462006 2461996 2451935 243 1994 2401934 2381940 2381941 2361970 2351969 2341973 2341999 2341997 2321990 2291917 2281926 2272005 2241905 2231932 2231945 2231967 2231977 2231914 2221992 2221908 2201960 2171950 2161957 2161968 2151906 2141942 2141937 2131939 2131904 2121929 2112001 2111903 2091943 2091991 2071913 2051971 2051919 2031961 2031982 2031951 2011918 2001944 2002002 2001930 1991974 1991979 1991952 1982000 1981928 1971962 1971964 1972004 1971915 1961981 1961902 1951963 1941993 1942009 1941953 1931966 1921998 1921988 1912010 1911910 1901936 1901965 1891986 1891916 1881972 1851958 1841985 1802011 1791922 1781938 1771948 1761927 1751920 1741923 1742007 1741931 1731978 1731980 1731909 1711946 1701987 1692008 1682012 1641924 1581912 1561956 1551907 1471954 143
  2. Classic situation that I have seen many times. Showers in the morning then increasingly sunny through the afternoon.
  3. It shows how the days are getting longer. Two weeks ago, there was only a slight glow. Now the glow is still notable.
  4. I took a night timelapse from last night. I thought it was twilight all night by the looks of it!
  5. Another poor day, convective wise. Some showers but nothing thundery nor any hail.
  6. Very heavy squally shower just pushed through.
  7. What is concerning for NW of England is the lack of showers over northern parts of Wales. They seem to have died a death at the moment in that area.
  8. Showers are coming through. Nothing especially heavy at the moment.
  9. James Madden is back again! What makes me laugh is they describe him as an expert! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uk-weather-britain-heading-first-3499753 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Exacta-Weather-the-truth-behind-the-headlines/231254790375886
  10. Night timelapse. Interesting how near the end, the clouds seem to rapidly change direction
  11. Looks a high base thunderstorm. These are the type than can cause forest fires.
  12. Are those threads costing the site, money? There is almost an economic logic being applied here. The traffic to those threads have dropped and if it were shops or businesses, you would shut down but they are not. If you are going to use traffic as an argument then what is the point of the Travel, Holidays and Days out forum? 8 threads in a year? The newest thread posted on that site was July last year.
  13. I might be able to see the woods through the trees if I can see the point of closing the threads? I don't see why they have to be closed because it is the quiet season? If they are not being posted frequently then why close them? Why is it necessary? Are they using up extra electrical power? Using up Mbs?Why is it necessary, that's what I don't get and being the quiet season, people don't frequently post in them is not really a good enough reason.
  14. That is a surprise 1993-94 on your list. I'm that surprised I'm going to say are you sure?We got about that amount you recorded from one snowfall during late February 1994 alone. It was one of the better winters of the 90s in terms of snow, at least around here.
  15. It seems to have been trend the last few months, any cold threat shown in the models so far out is reduce to virtually nothing when it gets here. Another example has just gone by. It has happened before but usually one or two threats survive but this season nothing is surviving. Looks like now a completely snowless spring.
  16. Looking at just good storms that happen in May, 18th May 1997 was a beauty. I remember the flashing and banging just as the early morning twilight of that Sunday was appearing. The day before
