This is the seasonal Final warming of the stratosphere before it enters summer conditions - which in broad terms means the polar vortex goes AWOL till autumn when tempertures across the polar stratosphere fall away once again
However in tandem with other factors I do that we are looking at the possibility of another cool and fairly unsettled summer with the jet stream once more further south than average for summer.
The CFS anomalies are interesting for next winter - they only have another 6 months or so to stay consistent
Could you please let me know where you go to see these anomolies charts. I have had a scout about but not seen them.

Thank you everyone on here. This subject has actually managed to get me to study again as I have become fascinated by the knowledge shown here.

Do you by any chance live near or under a bridge. Why would you want to try and damage this discussion the same way that others here have been?i think it might be better to forget the warming i really think its to late in the season.
i also feel this warming is not coming any closer and as has been noted the mjo is against us i think winter 12/13 needs to be forgotten as a so close but no cigar.

I have had problems getting in touch with friend in Central Cuba and after several days managed to speak to someone yesterday. I was then told they had had an earthquake stong enough to shake the buildings and they had no power for three day. Can anyone tell me where i can find out more like strength and epicentre.

I see the Asylum doors have been opened early this year. Or business is so bad companies are scaring people into purchase they don't need.

Is it me? Or, had the NAD really disappeared, wouldn't the REAL scientific community have been onto such a 'dire' situation months' ago!
God only knows why so many people take so much of the garbage going round the Internet as gospel? Maybe it's all this 'all opinions (irrespective of their genuine validity) are always worthy of equal consideration' twaddle...
There are a lot of interesting developments most of which I am still trying to learn about. The thing that saddens me is that no matter what side people take on any debate now they have to go to extremes to get their point across.
