    For the first time tonight, we have proper snow falling, well decent size snowflakes anyway, i just hope things have turned less marginal now and can get a decent top up.

    May of spoke to soon, really heavy snow coming down now, is there hope yet!!!

    Cheers nick, isolated. Showers have definitely intensified and i can tell you if im been totally honest its a mixture of snow and rain, im just a tad to close to the coast by the looks of it, if the wind wasn't so strong i may have had a few cms but nevermind. Fingers crossed for use though.

    As its stands at the minute, i cart see my part of boro getting any fresh snow, the snow showers are not heavy or persistent enough and the wind is blowing like hell. Still have a fair amount of snow and ice lying though, so if we do see a decent shower there's something to build on lol.

    I can report now that's its just snow falling here, i wouldn't mind the wind calming down a touch though, its preventing any top up. When is the main band due to hit our area?

    Its blowing like hell in the breeze, deffo turning more snowy, still rain mixed in at the minute.

    Turning more to snow now over the past 15 minutes, isn't half blowing about in the breeze.

    Gazza im 7 mile from the coast, started off as sleet, then rain, then hail and now snow is falling, blowing about in the breeze.

    I can tell you, that's its deffo turning more wintry, geordiesnow might be on the money when he said a rain to snow event, we'll soon find out. Snowstorm if its turning more wintry here, it deffo will for you further inland.

    Yep i agree Snowmegedon but don't lose heart, here its just starting to turn to small hail and snow flakes, im only a couple of miles closer to the coast from you in Normanby, you should start to see the same soon.

    Its now raining here, not looking good, hopefully wake up with some snow, good luck on your snow depth guys!!!

    I lived and worked in peterborough for a while, market deeping, really smart area, not as friendly as us northerners though lol sleet shower here at the moment, although there is tiny snow flakes mixed in.

    Snow phall - good post, im thinking along the same lines myself but if there is snow about there's always a chance for us.

    Guys i have a concern here, quite a big thaw going on, guessing that's a bad sign, what's the chances off snow for us 7 miles from the coast? i have read that lying snow at the coastline further down the east coast, must be a good sign!

    I like the idea though, think of the worst and we won't be disappointed, some of us may then get a pleasant surprise ( shame it won't be me lol some)

    Its mad this place, most of the forecast are going for heavy snow in most of the region, most of us are going for sleet/rain lol

    Afternoon all,just back from work and id say we have lost 40-50% of the snow cover we had. I ain't very confidant in the snow reported for tonight or tomorrow to be honest, im prepared for sleet/rain here but still been a good spell of cold weather.

    What's everyone's opinion about this cold spell? I think its been good, better than what i thought, snow and ice on the ground since Tuesday, its snowed everyday since last Monday, the odd disappointment throwing in though (Friday for example) could be more on the way of snow tonight and tomorrow. A rather good spell of winter weather.
