    I maybe wrong here but its only right on the coast line that it could be marginal, im about 7 mile from the coast so im hoping that will be far enough in land to fall as snow

    We will deffo have rain here, already have in spells today, still we have had lying snow since Tuesday which turns this into a decent spell, even though im disappointed with the past 24hrs, I would of thought we may have seen an awful lot more than we got.

    Looking good for use further up north again, things seem to be petering out down here for us, the odd shower that's about it, can here plenty of dripping, i ain't sure we will get much in the next few days but you never know.

    Hi everyone, seen a mixture of all today, rain, sleet, hail and snow, not lost a great deal of snow cover either, what's in store tonight? i have a feeling we have probably seen the best from this current cold spell, when's the next one due haha

    Normanby im at, in the last two hours we have gone from, snow to sleet then rain back to sleet and now full on heavy snow as i speak, deffo was not hail Alza. I have noticed other locations that have had sleet tonight also. Full on snow at the minute.

    CC, me to but i can 100% confirm its sleet and rain that was coming down, its slowly turning back to very light snow blowing about in the wind.

    Its proper lashing down now, bloody rain, plenty of snow flakes in the mix so its either turning one way or the other, wind isn't half starting to pick up, i also think the wind direction is changing now looking at the street lights anyway.

    The rain has stopped now turning back to tiny snow flakes, its quite frustrating because i can see the clouds over the north sea blowing straight up the coast rather than heading straight towards us lol

    Alza its a rain event now lol, i can see the fresh snow slipping down the car windows!

    Nice one snowstorm roles reversed tonight lol, you will also be far enough away from the coast too, won't be as marginal. Why has it turned marginal, is that because the wind direction has not changed yet?

    I can confirm its sleet/rain falling now, also quite a strong breeze picking up, not looking to good at the minute but plenty of snow cover so ain't all bad.

    Kato, we have been quite lucky again in boro, no were near as good as the three inches we got on Tuesday but still 2-3 cms, all depends on the wind direction i think lol hopefully you will get something before the night is over!!!

    Seems to have warmed up a touch here, don't know weather its sleet falling or the tiniest of snow flakes, any idea if this direction in the wind will be changing soon?

    Ill second that snowmegedon, steady light snow falling for the past 2 hrs, i don't think the wind direction has changed yet either, could wake up to a fair amount in the morning if the wind changes and we get some luck from the north sea.

    Interesting day so far here in boro, had a decent snow shower around 4:30, not alot since, anyone got an update if we are to expect any heavier showers moving in anytime soon!

    I second that kato, there is a line of meaty clouds just sat out in the sea waiting for a slight change in wind direction, got to say they stretch for miles so it could be game on for a fair few people along the coasts when it arrives and for us a tad further inland.

    Calm down guys, what will be will be but to my eyes its all going as forecast, we were not due anything till this afternoon anyway. Once the showers start rolling in off the north sea anything can happen. Also stop looking at what's going to happen Monday and Tuesday, when we are in a cold spell and we have most the country under snow and ice by then so it could change, whatever the outcome enjoy the ride

    Bloody hell was that January, if i remember that rightly that spell was a weird one for me in my location, we got one hell of a pasting on the Saturday evening then by Sunday night into Monday a massive thaw took place and lost most of it.

    Just out of curiosity does anyone know the last time we had a decent snowy spell in January that lasted a good week or so? I cannot remember the last time we had a decent cold spell in January!

    Snowstorm i still cannot believe you missed out on Tuesday, i work on portrack lane and it was really heavy there, you will Deffo get your turn this weekend, keep the faith, hope the match gets called off tomorrow mind, don't think i can hack boro getting mullered at leicester live on sky lol

    Cheers frost, I've just watched sky news there and the girl in the studio who normally does the weather report sounded speechless at times with the amounts of snow Wales and the south west could get, urging people to stay in, also showed the UK at 6pm tomorrow the whole north east covered in heavy snow, must be looking good now surely
