  1. Great I bet the window people cancel again, like on Tuesday. Madness all this rain. At least we have upstairs done now, today.
  2. Glad it's mild at the min, council is doing my windows on the 2nd 3rd, and half day for a door on the 4th, for a change the heating won't be on keep my house at optimum temp, cause it'll cost a fortune.
  3. Lots of heavy down bursts happening here at the minute, on the 3rd one in half hour, no thunder yet, but look to be in a line for more. Wind comes with them.
  4. Last one didn't effect here, it's windier now than at any time during that storm, but I was always way to far south to notice that one, plus Dover is very sheltered from north west winds.
  5. Lol I thought this was a weather forum, guess no one knows who I'm talking about, he's not an olympic swimmer, but an American storm chaser.
  6. I did say the cross winds won't be in normal areas, lorries could well be caught out.
  7. That's true enough, but unless your going along the m62, or is there anymore that go east west across the country in the north, with the wind direction, cross winds will not be in the usual places for sure. It'll be blowing down the M1, A1 M6.
  8. I don't get it, what's " Michael Phelps" got to do with weather.
  9. I've actually never appreciated either cold or heat, but could tolerate both, now because of my ms, I'm actually bad in both. So my view re cold is, if it's gonna be cold at least snow with it toake the discomfort worth it, as I love snow, how it looks when falling, and first landed. I hate it after that though, as also because of my ms, it makes getting about very dangerous for me, withy balance issues.
  10. Might be worth taking them down, and putting them back after tomorrow. Living where I am, I don't even think about outside Christmas lights, always see people's not working after storms lol, would normally be ok in land, but tomorrow might be a bit iffy Midlands northwards, and probably along most of the east coast as it moves east.
  11. Tbf most of the Ciaran posts are what storm, unfortunately, and then there's what happened in the channel islands, which was very bad, not much about the places in England that did get hit re Cornwall, back end of storm and the SE corner, below London.
  12. I thought it was already evacuated weeks ago?
  13. Didn't stop snow here in early December for a change, will admit a was expecting rain or sleet as usual.
  14. There's no ash with this volcano, unless it hits water somewhere.
  15. The fisure is about 4km long apparently, madness.
  16. Minced beef and onion pie, here, but exactly what I'm doing lol.
