  1. I rarely see any settled snow here, but when I do it's usually a surprise covering and not forecast. The models and forecasters struggle to get snowfall right the day before and with the breakdown still being 5-6 days away it's still all to play for. Keep the faith.
  2. I'm old enough to remember it, I was 7. Cardiff had some massive snow drifts. I had stayed at my older sister's the night before and ended up snowed in up there all week. My other sister got married on the 16th January that year and the neighbours had to dig a path up the street for her to get into a car on the main road. I've never seen anything like it since, it stuck around for weeks too. It really was snowmaggedon!
  3. I'm right down at sea level in Grangetown. Snow has been falling quite a while, but it's very wet and not settled at all.
  4. Being only 9m asl I am not expecting anything but rain for me, I live in hope though.
  5. I'm considering it. I'll keep an eye on the radar and see where it is later. Even if I do sleep it will be short naps and lots of window checking. It's looking good for Wales tonight. Even MetOffice have Cardiff down with a 90% chance at 6am. I am hopeful to at least see a flake falling even if it doesn't settle.
  6. A rather benign few weeks of weather. I'd love to see the temps drop sharpish for January and for everyone to get a good covering of snow.
  7. I struggle with the Summer months and extra light too. In the peak of Summer it feels like I have to endure eternal daylight. I can feel myself starting to perk up now the nights are slowly drawing back in, the end is in sight! I need the dark to relax, I wear sunglasses all year round and not just on sunny days.I also like the feel fresh air coming through my window, none of this warm hairdryer rubbish please! October to February is the best time of the year!
  8. It's getting to that point in the year where you can see Autumn slowly creeping in. Not long now!
  9. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed this Summer so far, I am a rain fan and not a fan of the sun at all. It is feeling rather muggy and humid here today - Despite losing the Met Office warning, I wonder if we'll be lucky enough to see some storms overnight.
  10. Everytime it started to cover the garden my daft dog went out and wiped it all away with his nose. Though I had a slightly better coverage out the street.
  11. I'm really feeling the post snow blues tonight. There was a tidy coverage at 9am, but it thawed so quickly and every drip I heard made me feel so sad. It was like the snow itself was crying to leave us. There's plenty of time left this year for round 2. Hopefully this was just a practise run and the next batch will stick around longer.
  12. I've finally got a covering, very thin, but a covering all the same. Looks like some heavier precipitation is heading our way. It's nail biting stuff being a coldie in Cardiff.
  13. There's flakes in the air in Cardiff! They're the first I've seen this year. The winds have really picked up too, so fingers crossed for later this evening.
  14. Phew. It's been hot lately! Definitely not my favourite kind of weather, but it's a lot cloudier today and feeling somewhat fresher. Quite a welcome relief. I see the Met office have issued a warning for thunderstorms across Wales. We really could do with some rain now, everything is so dry and dusty out there. I'm crossing my fingers this storms do materialise. :)
  15. Very light snow in Cardiff and bitterly cold.
  16. I did the same. I went out the garden to try and get a photo of the drifting. Oh my word, never felt a bitterly cold like that. The snow was pelting down and when the wind picked up, ouch! It was so cold it hurt. I was only out there a few moments, but it took me ages to warm up.
  17. Nice to see you back, Andy. Gobsmacked they gave you a ban for speaking your mind.
  18. I don't like normal when it comes to the weather. Snow, hail, rain, winds, anything except sunshine please. Lol
  19. Most of the snow has thawed here now, still a few odd patches and the mountains the supermarkets have cleared from their carparks. To think this time last week we were all waiting to see if it arrived, now it's been, thawed and the weather is all a bit boring again. I feel a bit lost. Lol
  20. Take a look at this photo I just seen on Facebook. High St Arcade in Cardiff, undercover and still snow got down there with the almighty winds. Absolutely incredible!
  21. It's really coming down, Jay. My bald patch has finally been covered. It's taken me by surprise, I was only expecting light flurries this afternoon.
  22. Same here. The cat ran to the front door this morning, then turned and ran straight back upstairs. The dog has been more enthusiastic. Lol
