Net Weather's forecast for Cardiff now showing heavy sleet Friday, sleet again Saturday and snow on Sunday. Temps really do need to drop first though, it's still so mild here despite raging winds.

All thrown towels are being recollected in the mod thread. It's looking quite good for Wales from the weekend onwards. Dare we believe?

I was quite concerned he was going to electrocute himself when the rain belted down. Bet the daft sod had extension leads draped across the garden too.

Winds really are blowing a gale here and have been all night long. We've had sheets of rain. My neighbour is out trying to fix his fence in this. As fast as he drills it back into place it's back down again.

Thanks Midlands Ice Age. I snapped those with my phone, so looking forward to seeing what beauties I have on my proper camera later. It's 3.2C in Cardiff now. Still lots of frost and ice lingering. If we can't have snow then this comes a close second best for me. Hopefully we'll get another cracking frost tonight before the mild air hits tomorrow.

Absolutely stunning frost here this morning. It added an extra hour to my shopping trip as I had to keep making detours to take photos.

Coldest night of the winter so far. My bin was frozen shut by 8pm. Shame there's no ppn around tonight, bit at least it's sub zero and we'll have a good frosty morning.

Ahh, good old facebook with their memories. I was drooling over the snow of years gone by too. A light frost here overnight, just reaching 0c. Well, 0.1c, but close enough.

This week has been a real let down for most of us, but I can't help thinking after all these near misses we have to strike it lucky soon. Eternal optimist? Maybe, but Winter's not over yet.

Today Bute Park weather station hit 5c and Cardiff Bay barrage hit 5.7c. It's just way too warm out there.

Netweather's forecast on Monday for Cardiff is now sleet all day. That's an improvement on the rain first forecast.

Cardiff did too. There was a little sleety rain after midnight and that was our lot. I have the no snow blues today.

Back to a clear starry sky now. Hopefully the temp will drop a little more before the next blob arrives.
