  1. Itv wales showed snow all over north wales tonight and tomorrow , can this be right ?not seen this anywhere else

they showed snow all over south east wales for today last night. I never know what to make of the itv forecast.on Thursday they said the snow in the south wouldnt be to heavy, I turned over to bbc wales and they had issued (maybe a bit ott) their red warning.

  2. i have just witnessed the council bringing a tractor up my street to remove the snow on the road and then the gritter coming behind it.I have never ever seen this in my life as our street never gets gritted.turns out their trying to do as many streets as the can.maybe they know something we don't or the complaints have been pouring in from people who wont drive in snow!

  3. Sorry about the wait, I feel that Monday into Tuesday could well be tied in with the snowfall we saw today with -4C uppers (possibly lower if the ECM is right) and with the flow coming from the continent dp's again will be lower (similar to today) which are the perfect conditions for snow, obviously things can change but so far its looking good, especially for your area. I will update everyone on here when the GFS 18z comes out but if the ECM is to be believed the cold spell isnt ending until the 25th with some major snowfalls occurring between now and then.

Im sure the Metoffice are being conservative about the potential for Monday/Tuesday, and like what they have done with today's snowfall, if things look similar tomorrow to what they are showing now, Metoffice will put Wales into the amber warning again.

Thank you ever so much.I was going to ask you in the model thread but i posted there yesterday and got shouted down like a school boy in the headmasters office.I am just wondering so if needs be i can re-arrange work as i'm self-employed but at least i know if needs be now i can have a back up plan

  4. Hi all.i thought as it was quiet in here i would take the chance to ask that on the wales discussion board there is talk and apparently Ian F has suggested this as well that there may be a "breakpoint" as the front moves in?i am just wondering if anybody has any info on this from the charts as I have no idea where to look.

Many thanks and sorry if this is posted in the wrong place

  5. What am I misunderstanding here- that chart is in mm's - so 20 perhaps 30mm of snow? or is that the rain equivalent and the snow would be a different depth altogether?

From what i have read from other posts and replys I belive that its mm in rain on the charts. so snowfall totals are different. If im wrong in this post then im sorry in advance and im sure others will correct me
