My first memory was when i was about 7 or 8. my parents had booked the pub for my birthday party in the afternoon (feb 11th). i remember waking up and them saying we may have to cancel you party because of the snow that's forecast, but don't worry we can have all your friends who can make it here in the house.................sure enough it hammered with snow from about 9 am and the party was cancelled. at that age i really didn't care it was snowing on my birthday and that's all that mattered!

its just been such a long wait for snow that I think unless the charts come up with something promising soon then it may stay like this until summer.

Don't believe it! It seems to be getting warmer here! Gone up to 3.9 ! What's happening!!! Nooooooo!!
according to the met office the temp will rise today and be around 5 this evening.maybe its best to do an Elsa today and "let it go". Plenty more chances for snow over the next 9 weeks so all hope not lost yet

first real heavy snowfall i can remember was in jan 1996.......(i think).we all got sent home from school with a few inches on the ground took nearly an hour to go from ystrad mynach to cascade , then within a few hours there was nearly a foot of snow.snowed from 11am until late at night.had a full week off.didnt see another good snowfall like that for a good while after!

signs that the met office have seem something in the charts as all weather reports are ending with "the possibility of something colder for Xmas period". Lot of talk in the model thread like why won't they say snow and cold is coming.i think its because we know how much this country panics at the first mention of snow and it still 7 days away.if the charts are still showing the same Sunday I expect the met office to change their stance then ⛄

Oh go on then...I'll ramp a bit. Snow Xmas Eve in North and Mid Wales??
hopefully it will push a bit further south and more of us could get in the action..........all big ifs and buts at the moment but a lot more positive than this time last week. come on santa i have been goodish this year!

i always wondered what happened to steve tynant. he used to post here a lot as well. I think that Andy is currently building his ski center in the mountains that he was on about a few years ago, or he's busy getting his snowmobile buisness up and running for winter that he was also on about setting up a few years ago. he is and always will be my favorite ramp master!

I would imagine that COBRA will be meeting early next week to discuss contingency plans, if these charts come off then we will see snow that people under 50 have never seen in their lifetime, unprecedented amounts.
Southern England and London collapses after 3 inches of snow, it is quite possible there will be 3 FEET of lying snow by New Years eve
and the ramp of the day award goes to....................

I know its not the most scientific way of doing things but has anyone else done some chart matching for the next 48 hours and 10-12 Dec 1962. Things look similar......ish!!! Just clinging on to rays of hope as the Mod thread is in the pit of despair.

lol, its just picked up in there in the last hour.............their all so cryptic all the time. no definite answers given by anyone. they must have some big prams and big toys as their always throwing them out!

let's not end up like the model thread in here. All the signs are there for some snow potential this week at some point, but there's bigger and worst things happening in the world than if it doesn't snow.
on a plus note its nice to see the wales thread a bit busier these last few days!
