Started off with sleet then rain with big flakes then gradually turned to snow and been like that for the last hour or so.... decent covering now.

has this event blown through quicker than expected? The forecasts show precipitation till midnight?

met office app shows 4hrs of rain for me before any hint of winteryness so I'm assuming there's a lot of precipitation?

Plenty of warnings out for tonight but personally won't get hopes up.!!

Not be cold enough for front to turn to snow in most places in north west tonight. High ground only.

Looks like east is definitely best place to be. Anyone any ideas what's the chances for lying snow over here in the west or are the showers to die out? Currently very green looking!

Driven from just outside Omagh to Limavady and nothing but some wintry showers. Think the BBC got it wrong. last night showed snow piling in throughout the day. Must be warmer than expected? Not too sure what to think about tomorrow. If today was too hard to call then tomorrow must be harder?

Ah well.... at least I won't have to worry about all my lack of snow being washed away tomorrow!!

Not sure why I keep checking the met o forecast but was showing sleet for tomorrow, then heavy snow ... now it's back to sleet again??

Can anyone say if there's a chance of it being too mild in the west for it to snow? (Like a few years back we got cold mush in the West and from the Middle over to the East they got deluged!) or is the direction it's coming from suggesting if there's precipitation it should be snow?

I don't see any of the weather forecast sites going for anything other than some wintry showers for some next week. Why would this be?
