I’m also here pretty much all year round, just don’t post so much the rest of the year. After the best snow event I’ve had in my life, about 17/18cm level in the end of powder snow with ice from the freezing rain on top, I’m happy with that for the winter, now I’m after some spring warmth and into some sunny summer weather and thunderstorms... We can but dream -

Yes! Still a surprising amount left around here, even on the sides of main roads. I’ve attached a picture of some snow left on the roof of an extension, so although it had drifted a bit it’s still limited as it is on the roof and was very open to being blown off!

Try screenshotting whatever you’re trying to post... I’ve had that issue recently. One of the times I had to screenshot twice for it to work (even though it wasn’t over the size limit!)

Obviously in a drifty location but just to show the depth of snow that’s still here! The measurement taken by my accurate measuring utensil, my hand and arm

Weirdly the thaw doesn’t seem to be happening too quickly here... snow still lying everywhere it hasn’t been cleared, even still on roofs! Reckon it’s probably down to the thickness of the ice we got on top of the snow and that’s what’s holding on rather than the snow itself.

It’s caused by the air above being above zero, so as the snow falls, it melts to rain but still stays supercooled, hence it then freezes on the surface.

I would have thought that too, much like Mapantz and others were saying yesterday it’s just put a hard crust of ice on top of our snow!

We’ve also had freezing rain here on top of the snow. Radar says we’ve been under that lot that was coming up from the channel last night pretty much all night, but I think it’s just been freezing rain the whole time! I’m trying to upload a photo of the window but it’s not letting me

Who insulted Emma?! She seems angry and ready to hit us with more snow Ice pellets falling here for the last hour or so, so not much more accumulated from the 6-7 inch reading I gave earlier.

Wow this is just insane. I made it home from work but it was ridiculous, not even any lanes on the motorway were clear!! Probably have about 10cm or so? Haven’t measured it though. I LOVE IT
