It just keeps getting heavier, they've lost the battle to keep the main road clear as its now white over. I cant believe this much snow has fallen
in 5hrs. --0.5C still, hope it stays like this, dont want those fat wet flakes as this fine powdery snow seems to stick and accumulate better.
-
Morning Adam, have you got much snow? Or has the wind blown it all from your garden and into next doors.
-
Second thoughts....the front should stall before long.Possibly right over us until the next front moves in overnight....
METO are showing another 28hrs of heavy snow followed by a further 12hrs of light snow, if that is right and how it plays out
then its going to be madness.
-
The main Sheffield Roads turning white again, must be in a good patch as its hammering it down and i cant see the hills over the road.
-
It has a slight n/e trajection and is heading our way.
I'm glad i'm done for the weekend now, i can relax and enjoy it. I better go get a couple of pints of milk before the panic buying lunatics
clear the village out.
Is it bad over your way?
-
Its getting heavier now, this is better than winter. Gritter ploughs just gone up the main road spraying brown crap allover the path, well done
gritter, a snowball greeting on his return is in order.

Looking on the radar the real beefy stuff is over Stoke on Trent now (07:14).. Gonna be an interesting watch to see if it makes it east and settles on us..
Just been looking at that and thought the same thing, even had the ruler on the screen lining up the trajectory, its going to be close.

-0.6C and 8-9cm on my wheelie bin, just walked home from work and theres foot deep drifts on the paths. Started snowing lightly about 1.30am
and got heavy at 3am, only fine snow but its put a lot down.Workmates just come in from Elsecar near Barnsley, he said theres a light covering
at home but when he hit Thurgoland a couple of miles from here it got bad and the roads were covered.
Its fine powdery snow thats drifting in the wind, just looked on METO for Penistone and it has heavy snow all the way through until tomorrow, if
it stays like this we'll be snowed in.

If anyone is looking for an Android Radar, Rainy Days has a dedicated Radar, it uses Google maps so map detail is good and it has a 15min update time and
shows the last few hours in animation. It actually updated to 19:00 at 19:10 so its no different to a good desktop Radar, it has plenty of settings for speed and
quality so it can be run on older phones and the best thing is its free.
-
The light stuff on the front edge of the front looks to be falling apart faster the Charlie Sheen.
Net weather radar is mobile friendly now
Cheers Craigers, i'll check it out.
-
Does anyone know a good Radar app for Android? Preferably with a 15min update time, i use WeatherPro, its ok with a 25-30min update time
but the map is poor, it only shows Manchester so its difficult to accurately gauge locations. I have Accuweather too but i'm not keen on it and
1hour updates are poor.
A dedicated Radar would be good, i dont mind if its free or paid either, a good Radar is worth paying for. i'm working tonight so a good Radar
would be handy.

Its coming on the radar, just about to land on Worcester who have got some nice prolonged heavy rain to look forward to, bless em.
-
Meto have my location as heavy snow from 03:00 right through to Saturday evening o.0 .. Hope it pulls off
Just been looking myself, it shows a constant run of snow, mostly heavy with a few light spells from midnight through to 6am Sunday
It looks nice on screen, especially when the METO are throwing around 20-40cm stats in their warnings but i'm not getting suckered
into that, if we get a few inch that will be Epic, i'm not expecting more than that but i hope to be proven wrong.
-
id say that 18 hours of heavy snow in your area is out of the question to be fair.
Hows it looking for here in the Penistown mate? Am hoping we're far enough South and West and high enough for some chaos.
-
Picchachu how high up are u in metres?
HaHa, roughly 230m
-
Heavy snow now, be fun if it kept this up for a while.
-
Heavier snow to the south of Huddersfield at present, lighter here.
Hit a heavier patch here, i cant see the hills approx 200m in front of me and the main Sheffield road is a mix of snow and slush.
-
White over in Penistown, a nice winter wonderland, in Spring. 0.1C and steady snowfall.
Started off as sleety balls, 2.0C about 4am then turned to snow a couple of hours ago.
-
Its finally snowing here, not had a flake all weekend but it got here in the end. Biggish wet flakes with no chance of settling, its just soaking the ground.
-
Woke up to 3cm on the wheelie bin, very light fine snow until an hour ago and now the suns shining through. Theres a slow melt with icicles forming, its bloody cold
and the wind picking up is making it feel colder.
Nice to wake up to a winter wonderland with full snow cover, even the road got a covering.
-
Do you think it will be worth a drive to the Pennine areas tomorrow?
I was hoping the precipitation would be a bit more intense this evening than it currently looks.
Karyo
Its looking good this side of the Pennines and the METO have forecast it through the night and well into tomorrow you should have
a good outing, go for it.
-
The road is covered now, -0.2C and still moderate/heavy snow.
-
Can't see how people can be saying white over! Not true.
HaHa, i'm not pulling your leg mate, it really is white over and its pretty heavy snow now too. Everything's covered apart from the road which is quite
busy so it's not getting chance, the fields, paths and cars are covered. Surprising really as its been raining for the last couple of days and was raining all day
until it turned to snow.
It is actually covering the road where the cars are parked as well.
-
Its white over up here and getting gradually heavier. 0.3C
