  1. Just started to snow in the last 10 minutes. Looks like wet snow as the ground is being wetted by it. Not settling yet. Only 1.2c and I'm at 58m elevation.
  2. East wind started up and is now quite breezy and cold out there (feeling) but the temp has shot up to 1.5c. Will have to keep an eye on it to see if it dips this pm. Partner works south of Bristol, took a flask, some mars bars and a sleeping bag, just in case the M5 grinds to a halt going north tonight.
  3. Had about 1cm dusting this morning, but the temp is 1c so it's melting quite fast. But a lot more is expected this evening
  4. Too tired to stay up. Will see what's outside in the morning :-)
  5. 'By the pricking of my thumb, something wicked this way comes' Wonder if it will get to Bristol/Gloucester before morning? Looks very active!
  6. I just hope they have a better idea of what's happening in the morning. Lots of people are going to get stranded in the evening rush hour :-(
  7. The sky looks full of it already. Been getting snow pellets most of the day.
  8. Problem is that people are heading out and they are all going to get stuck out there! Even the M4 in South Wales has closed due to lorries getting stuck. They need to tell people DON'T MAKE UN NECESSARY JOURNEYS! At least the kids will be pleased. Just heard that their school is closed. Now where did I put that sledge?
  9. Well the snow is pants. Was 2+ all night then the band arrived in my area at 4.30am. Couple of hours of snow and it's not even 1cm. At least the temperature is 0.8c but still not that cold. Waiting to see now if the school is open. There will be some upset kids this morning when schools decide to open, but they shouldn't close on the basis of a forecast. They should open their curtains and make a decision first thing in the morning.
  10. So anyone North of the M4 in the West country should make plans to maybe work from home or risk getting stranded? Wonder if the schools will even bother opening if it's forecast to snow all day?
  11. Had a dusting of snow overnight just north of Bristol (170 feet), but all melted as the temps have increased and now have moderate rain. Lovely big flakes last night as well.
  12. I'll just convince myself not to expect any snow. Then I might get a pleasant surprise! Better than wishing for snow and for it to be just rain. We don't want to scare it away!
  13. And a horse and cart means you'll be able to get through any snow that does fall ;-)
