Quite a contrast between Currie this morning when I left and South Gyle where I work. Currie had heavy snow falling which was settling on the roads while there is nothing at South Gyle really - bit of sleet and it's wet. All changed about Riccarton park and ride. Complete non-event for lower Edinburgh today. I can see the Pentlands out the office window - well I can't actually - so I'm clinging to the hope that snow settles at home throughout the day. I doubt it though. I detest frontal snowfall to be honest. Pretty much always a non-event here.

Much heavier at the minute. Looking forward to my cycle to work!

I'm pretty sure the same 6 flakes have been floating about Currie since mid afternoon! I'm not expecting much tomorrow (I have an almost irrational distrust of forecast frontal snowfall) but will bounce out of bed for a look anyway :-) Good luck folks!

Always interesting leading up to an event like this. Some good info on here today too. I'm hoping we'll be fine this end of town but been too many disappointments in the past to get excited yet.

Any gaps in the snow after today's thaw, gritting anf fun are very gradually filling up. Almost total cover again albeit thin in places. More showers please :-)

Been light snow flurries most of the morning but nothing major. Some thawing but largely holding up.Fingers crossed for something heavier at some point.

Looks that way. Hopefully make it through here. Parts of the coastal Borders and Lothians have had an amazing event!

Current temp of -2c/-5c reporting at Edinburgh Airport so no issues with temp. Kids up and busting to get out. Last night ended up being better than I expected. Around 3 inches = snowmen and sledging! Hopefully see a few beefy showers at some point but let's not be greedy :-)

About 3 inches now I reckon and still coming down. This has turned out OK after all :-)

Almost 4cm now. Amazing how quickly it's building up!

Been a shift alright! Promised the kids a snow day tomorrow. Might just get it :-)
