  1. We had a near direct hit, the rain was biblical it's amazing how much a few miles can do not that happy about the Charlton results but props to them, being 2 nil down and then going ahead takes some doing. It is incredibly tight down the bottom of the table. On to the weather it looks moist out there... It is very humid just the right, ingredients for a cracking storm.
  2. Evening All. We had a almighty storm in the morning, really hammered down no thunder though. The humidity was a tad too much, it felt very warm in the sunshine, at least i got a top up of vitamin D - as I post this the skies are darkening, wonder how things will develop into the Evening. Edit: the mass of PPN has arrived
  3. Hey all, not been posting due to the dire internet. Hope you're all fine and well. I've been reading back, and noticed there has been some division; which I thought was water under the bridge. The regulars give a damn good example, and this is hard to follow. When I first made my entrance, I was a little intimidated i must be honest. Many of you have got a strong reputation, starting with nothing is not so easy. Like the first day of Secondary School almost bizarrely. Whoever you are, you're always welcome on this thread. I made the plunge it took just over a year, sometimes you just have to go for it, and see what happens, I'm glad to report that it was thoroughly the right thing to do. Regardless of the recent drama this is forum full of people after all, this things happen - just focus on the good that you are doing.
  4. Morning all In the middle of no where, right out in the sticks. Unfortuately poor wifi it has just screwed up this post!
  5. Afternoon We could do with some rain, I watered the garden vigorously as the ground was quite firm & dry. Frosts are certainly not unheard of in April as we approach early May, the threat diminishes. Have a splendid day
  6. Overnight is forecasted to be even more chillier then yesterday, quite cold for April standards. Below freezing in frost prone areas away from towns and cities. Once the sun makes a appearance it will warm up nicely. Chilly nights followed by pleasant spring sunshine, is on the agenda. Perfect Spring weather. Hope your all having a nice evening forumites :-)
  7. I can't bear to watch them snowy scenes, it just prolongs the agony of this empty winter. I guess we were fortunate, but I would love to experience another winter like that, never seen the capital so snowy, it caused gridlock but blimey it was a sight to behold. Going offline, night all sleep well 5.6c brrr nippy outside
  8. Afternoon - great to see the regulars back Fabulous day although don't let the spring warmth catch you out, tonight there may be a patchy frost in rural locations, so gardeners be vigilant. Chilly night incoming.
  9. Hey all - what lovely weather for the marathon runners. it started rather cool, now warming up nicely; a beauty of a day
  10. Evening all, overcast virtually all day but now the clouds are clearing, to my suprise. I can see blue :o 11.9c the wind was rather cold, going to put my feet up and relax this evening
  11. Evening - Tonight marks my 100th Post I've only been active on this forum for barely a month, but I feel like I have integrated well this is due to your friendliness, unprecedented on most forums, where trolls are primarily on the headline, this is a special place full of wonderful people. It is rather complexing to get my head that I've made 100 posts probably a lot of gibberish.. But it has been truely a pleasure to be part of this big community, as we approach the summer my posts may slip down, however I'm a all year person. I believe the people come first and the weather second, cheers you'll all have to contend with me, I might get a little dazzled by the S word but I'll try my best.
  12. Morning Hope you all had a nice day, enjoy today and whatever it will bring I've been unwell in recent times, but I think I'm recovering albeit slowly, I sincerely hope that Tam is in good health she has been going through troubled waters. And I pray that she is fine and well. A rather chilly night 8.3c and Easter period is not looking chirpy, but life goes on.
  13. Afternoon what a lovely day it is, blues skies, scattered white cloud and the warming yellow sun Great concoction, at this time Easter time is not looking promising, could be unsettled. But we need all the rain we can get... If it was not for the wettest winter in 250 years, we would be approaching drought state. March was very dry here. And that theme is set to stay. 15.5c pleasant outside.
  14. Morning all 5.6 here the coolest it's been in a while, probably the lowest minima, until we enter autumn Drained back to sleep i go
  15. Nucleur is the way foward, there is plenty left... Although not a renewable energy. But for now.. We don't need to worry.. Future generations are going to cross troubled waters, but by then im sure some scientists would've discovered a new energy source. Wind energy simply does not produce enough electricity, to provide for our every growing population.
  16. It is definitely not a meteorite thats for sure. I disagree there, the air resistance would not be enough to greatly speed it down.. As its pulled down by the Earth's strong gravitational pull. Of course the larger the meteorite the larger the size.. But even if it was the size of a marble a crater would be evident even if it only had a diameter of 10cm. Meteorites are fairly rare.. Most burn up in the atmosphere, we are fortunate or we would be like the moon. On occasion some large enough.. Impact the earth, wouldn't like to be there to witness it
  17. This odds malarky is wrong, you can not genuinely put a mathematical figure on the likelihood of getting hit by a meteorite. It either happens or it don't... Most of this meteorites crash in the ocean and they are unheard of, as 70% of the earth'a surface is water, I was told by my physics teacher that even a meteorite the size of a marble could make a very large crater. But was this even found? I think this is a hoax.
  18. Afternoon folks Light steady Rain, 14c. Been glancing over our regional; back in January 2013 it has made this winter thoroughly depressing. The energy and charisma was excellent, hope that is replicated in winter 2014/2015!! Snow is virtually non existent until December here.. But it sure does fly by. I will enjoy this summer immensely, just hope it's not muggy and humid, like last year. Does anyone how how you insert a animation on this forum, All I get is a still image.
  19. I know how you feel, that would be a glorious setting for spectacular shots, I have a caravan down in Winchelsea. The only blinking time we don't go down there, oh well.. There will be more opportunities through the year. Outside it's looking rather dark.. Stormy looking
  20. Blimey biblical rain on its way for East Sussex and Kent, wished i was in hastings at this time! http://www.raintoday.co.uk/mobile
  21. Afternoon all, Hope your enjoying your sunday - quite humid outside and overcast yet again 15.6c storm potential? We've entered a quiet time for weather, while I was hibernating i missed out all on the action, not to worry, fantastic 'poetic' translation AS - im not so good with words but yours are truely captivating! Have a wonderful time in scenic Pembrokeshire, brace for what ever the weather throws at you, it is a exposed place but its all part of the fun and tales to tell
  22. White Easter more likely then a white Christmas.. I genuinely think that holds no truth especially with Easter being much latter this year, but perhaps if them charts verified we would get something?I never really glimpsed outside today, the air was much fresher. Have a nice saturday.. Good result, today - we have a glimpse of hope, may not be significant but there is a chance we could jump ship. Enjoy your saturday
  23. It was foolish to compare what we had in the 1950's to today. Nonetheless it's the worst I've seen it. But I've had a short life. East London; generally has poorer air quality this is due to our wind direction mostly from the sw which clears the pollution from west london. Into our way, today the air quality was much better - although the fresh air is not entirely here. Cynical sort of day, overcast and boring. Not remarkably warm 13.4c April is a changeable month, I wonder how the month will progress. Have a fabulous POETS day :-)
  24. Let's hope tommorow is a improvement, starting to think that we are in 1950's London, known for the great smogs. I know we no longer use coal to heat our homes, but as the population is growing our demand for energy will grow, so we will need to burn more fossil fuels. Which will pour more pollutants in the air. I think occasions like this will get all too common. Imo little has been imposed to limit the impacts, this is obviously not good enough, and the government need to buck up their ideas. I don't mind the occasionally smoggy day, but when it persists it's not pleasant. Today was rather muggy, and overcast not the nicest of days... I wouldn't mind some precipitation, it would disperse the bad air!! Nighty all To conclude, I caught a robin in flight
  25. Evening all Had a little trek up a steep hill, in Greenwich near to the Royal Observatory - to take some snaps of the recent air pollution. Which has blighted the landscape, Would've been a excellent view, but the smog reduced visibility; significantly the moist winds are on there way
