South East England & East Anglia Regional Weather Discussion 28/03/14

Evening all Been a hectic day at the "office" - the air quality has been quite bad in the morning, it was particulary noticeable. It had a odour, which I've not smelt before, little strange. I must say this weather is tedious.. Hazy sunshine followed by temps ranging from 14-19c there has been little to no breeze, it does feel humid especially at night. But bearable, the wind is expected to change to the SW bringing some much needed moisture, which should clear this murkiness - we need some rain or we'll end up in drought- 1,243 replies

Afternoon all, welcome back cc to our lovely green patch down in the SE and a happy April fools It is startling how popular it is, I really cannot be bothered with it. The times I've been let down, flying penguins just to name the few. Quite a nice day in SE London - neither hot or cold my preference. It has failed to reach 20c in IMBY, tomorrow is expected to be warmest day, I reckon we'll surpass 20c :)- 1,243 replies

He said: "This has then risen to a height where the dust is transported quite quickly over Europe and the UK by high level winds. Rain then washes the dust out of the atmosphere, bringing it down in the raindrops. We then see the dust when the rain dries out – and it’s particularly noticeable on shiny surfaces, like cars.Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/03/31/sahara-rain-cars-desert-dust-pictures_n_5061617.html- 1,243 replies

Happy Mother's Day Unfortunately for some their mothers are no longer with us, it is quite a emotional day for some. But take comfort of them fond, happy memories. My nan is sadly no longer here, and understandably for my mom it is a quite upsetting day, loss is a terrible thing. But at least we all had a mom even if it was not as long as we hoped.- 1,243 replies

I am no recluse, I enjoy going out. But its just my preference. Im a chilled out person, when the sun is out and shinning is is inviting to go outside, but some just like being in their cosy home. Sleep should be treated as your 5 a day. Without adequate sleep your body does not function properly. This leads to a increased risk of car crashes.. The list goes on. People lead busy lifes nowadays which just highlights that this does not work in a modern society. It may work for the retired, but many are left out.Edit: Nick 1 hours makes a vast difference in terms of sleep, nighty night

Winter is my perfered season due to the ability to sleep and not get blinded, forget the curtains/blinds I believe at a certain time it should be dark and then light. This new daylight saving time is here to cause disruption. It causes congestion and all sorts. As people flock to the beaches.. It may do good for the economy, but for simple folks - it is a travesty.
-
That is true but let's be realistic do we spend all our time eating caviar and drinking champagne, outdoors? It is just a nuisance, just keep with one thing, much more convenient. It is very unatural to see light at 9pm. Far majority carry life out just like they do now.

We have a 10 - Very High. It was to be expected as I'm located in Greater London, the epicentre of air pollution. All air pollution is bad for you, even for young healthy individuals, asthma sufferers and those who has breathing problems, i would strongly discourage you to wander outside, particulary in London. I believe that one day, the air pollution will get so bad they will impose people to not travel by car unless nessecary. It is a major problem, it kills millions. More has to be done imo. We dont want to end up like Beijing!
-
You are fortunate, clean country air does you some good. I had no idea on what the pollutants in the air, have done to my body, it is a relief to get into the country. Luckily during the summer we spend a large portion of time in a place near hastings, very refreshing. The air on Tuesday is very still, little movement this is why air pollution is intensified, I'm definitely not a expect but it sounds reasonable?
-
Exceptionally poor air quality, especially for those in densely polluted cities. I would recommend to not go outside on Tuesday, unless it's something urgent, low air quality can be damaging for your health be vigilant, has there every been warnings on poor air quality? - It is a silent killer, which make it even more deadly.

Good evening all Been another roller coaster day at the den, unfortunately ending 2-2. After having the upper hand twice, it is rather bitter. We conceded in the last few minutes which just adds to the grief.. We step closer to the vertical drop. Sorry about my rambling. Apart from that it was a splendid day we peaked at 18.5c, and Sunday is expected to be even more warmer, We may nudge 20c quite easily. Bluebreezer, you've gone through so much, I really root for you, from forum experience your a very nice person, unlike many in this world, you deserve so much more. I may not be there for you physically, but I'm thinking of you- 1,243 replies

Morning all - weather creatures The scorcher commences a balmy 17.6c, with some scattered wispy clouds. seriously not looking foward to losing 60 minutes of my sleep, winter is much more pleasant when sleeping; no humidity and no strong sun beaming down on you. Have a exquisite day, strawberries and cream sort of day...- 1,243 replies

Being in london we do get some potent storms meanwhile those outer london don't. I guess the is due to the Urban Heat Island which encases all of london and the surrounding areas, the added heat/moisture acts as a fuel and notches up the gear of the potency, we never do bad for storms here. But then you get potent storms popping up, up north, weather is a funny business. Hope you're all well - stay safe, night all- 772 replies

No thunder/lightning here - just light drizzle how boring, to make matters even more dreary, it's 6.9c and not pleasant when outside, I'm looking forward to the warmer period coming up, who knows how long it will last, but I will certainly make the most of it Relieved that the apparent plane crash 2 miles of gran canaria; was mistaken for a boat god knows how- 772 replies
