Cold zonal express incoming again in GFS always nice to see let's see if heights can rise in Greenland area again. Big ridge heading into arctic from west states along with big block to are east.

Not quite sure why so much talk about 120 fax chart it fits in nicely with there forecast you can see the fronts approaching Ireland & Scotland thursday then likely to give transient spell of snow across the Scottish mountains later on Friday and into Saturday then after it's likely zonal and maybe cold zonal at that?

It does seem that this is turning into last year were we chased an Easterly to kingdom come just to far out of reach for me I'm afraid, going forward best we can hope for is cold zonal & the chance of height rises towards greenland & vortex heading east.

There was cold zonal hinted at which was ticking along nicely until this easterly appeared and wrecked havoc in here hopefully the fi in gfs is correct and we get back into what was delivering to many this winter and that was cold zonal jet heading South.

So Met Eireann say this epic easterly toppler that's what I'm calling easterlys topplers nowadays as northerlys last longer now, is all over by Tuesday don't look at the mighty ECM this morning what ever you do we barely even get -4 uppers for the weekend. Met Eireann forecast below Tuesday will see strengthening southerly winds and rain moving in from the south and west. The further outlook for the rest of next week is for unsettled weather, but slightly milder conditions for a time.

Cold zonal from 240hr for 6 days dumpings of snow and 850s that won't make it marginal yes please.

Okay so gfs upgrades on 18z but some said a couple of days ago that gfs is 2days behind Ecm so if that's the case the gfs is just lagging behind and is showing what the ecm did show 2 days ago and will revert to what ecm is showing now in 2 days time??

Back to watching tv series for a while the ship has sailed for the phantom easterly awaiting to after 240hr for some cold zonal which nearly always guarantees here.

Realtime updates on the models is not welcome in here by a few maybe some have been scared off but here goes block pushed slightly further east on ECM@96hr not as good compared to GFS & UKMO.

Nice bit of cold zonal showing again and again in the FI just the South misses out but not to worry next frame the south joins in as well. Then signs at the end that the pv will locate eastwards.

If UKMO is right @144 and thats a big if then the GFS smashed the ECM this time around.

Is it just me but have the models not moved more towards gfs highs all very flabby not rebust colder uppers looks further away than ever? Gem especially so later on.

Yea but match is a bit early as snow potential later small amounts likely if it even does turn to snow.
