  5. Jan could be an interesting month hopefully with plenty of chances for snow gefs looking blocky again. Merry Christmas everyone & good health to all.
  6. The sentence neck of woods summed it up for me a lot more research many years of it infact as it not very clever tool at the minute for are wee island. Merry Christmas knocks
  7. I remember last year quite a few were going for blocky weather while you were having none of it, you mostly use zonal winds as your forecast and time & time again you get it right teleconnects and AAM are a complete bust they are as useless as a chocolate fireguard for are small Island.
  8. Teleconnections flip just like the model runs start of Jan all to play for no matter what some in here would like you to believe we still can't give an accurate 5 day forecast this week is a prefect example of that.
  9. Sliders full of rain & slush Sorry for those confused slush is very wet snow that melts quickly & rain is just plain old rain.
  10. CFS going off on one are is it onto to something here???
  11. Number of days with falling sleet/snow wouldn't begrudge Jan 84 type setup that's for sure. Belfast: 22 Glasgow: 20 Manchester: 13 Birminghan: 12 Cardiff: 12 Heathrow: 8 Plymouth: 6

  13. EC looks terrible at Day 10 to???Looks much the same maybe pacific ridge slightly better on EC than GFS time for a break from model this weekend me thinks.
  14. Bin 6z and on to 12z snow is coming i can smell it and maybe even for the big day. But one think i would say if GFS went further on there would be 10ft drifts everywhere.
  15. There was a barrier erected on Greenland's coast line several years back so that would explain why we never see these heights smash through beyond the coastline i heard this in the grapevine the other day.
  16. If we get that first low to slide it could be game on for Xmas..
  17. The milder uppers mixed in earlier the window was only 6hrs but what a start to winter cannot complain one bit.
  18. So best to keep money in pocket for no White Christmas.
