Tiny flakes floating about in Rochester. Really hoping a snow dance will help it start up again ? Can someone explain the Murr scale please? I know it's been about for years, but can't remember the specifics! -

Still small flakes & just starting to settle now. Hopefully it will fill in the gaps that melted earlier. Those gaps were making my garden look messy!! -

Are there any blobs following on behind this one or are we hoping for this one to grow?! Getting a bit heavier here (Rochester) already. -

Does a drift of snow on the trampoline still count as a drift?!! It's about 2cm different from one end to the other!! (Clutching at straws) Not on a level with beast 1 yet, but I've watched snow fall all day, everything has turned white again and that makes me very happy ? -

Are you in Blue Bell Hill? I'm just down the road from you & all pavements & road are covered here. I've got a good few CMs on my garden table from today too. My daughter lives in Walderslade & said earlier that the roads here were worse than around her house, which is odd, because it's usually the other way around! -

Steady but still light snow falling in Rochester. My daughter is at Uni in Lincoln & said it's hammering down there. My other daughter (a few miles from Rochester) has been sending me pictures of her garden all day. Love how they see snow & immediately think 'Tell Mum!' Like I'm not already watching the radar!! -

Snow starting up again in Rochester & looks like it's getting a bit heavier now! Small flakes laying on what's left from this morning. Pavements starting to get a little light dusting too. -

Still snowing in Rochester, but very light at the moment. Hope that doesn't do anything to the covering we've got! 1cm (ish) on the garden table. -

Hi everyone! Haven't been about for a while.... We've got a new addition to the family, he's a Jack Russell Patterdale cross called Rocky and he's very very lively!!! He's got us out and about so much over the last few months and on the whole, the weather has meant we have been able to enjoy some lovely walks in the countryside - especially this weekend in the glorious sunshine!! Well it's soggy and dull here today. It's such a tease having a few days of sunshine then back to this. Any hopes for a longer spell of nice weather anytime soon? -

Morning all! I've got a dusting here (about 0.5 cm) and its still very gently snowing. Settled on bins, cars, garden furniture etc.. I'm now on day 2 of stripping wood chip off walls and its driving me slowly insane... Any snow distraction (or ideas of how to get it off FAST!) would be lovely Happy Sunday Peeps!- 833 replies

Evening all, All this talk of storms reminded me of a visit to my sister who used to live in Andorra. We went to see her one summer when all the snow had melted and there were alpine streams running through the beautiful mountains. Driving back from town during the day to where she lived (which was on a ski resort) we would see the clouds around the tops of the mountains and we had to drive through them up the Pyrenees to get to her village. The evening before we left there was a huge thunder storm and we watched for hours as the lightning hit the mountains. It was amazing and after that I never feared them again, instead I've found them amazing! I've never seen anything like that before or since but totally understand why people find hem scary. BTW, She lives in Watford now....l not sure the storms there are quite as dramatic- 846 replies

Morning all! Well it's wetter than wetville here today... Was woken up by heavy rain on the skylight and then my rain alarm (which clearly can't keep up this morning!!) it's still going off even though the rain hasn't stopped!! I think indoor retail therapy is on the cards today, but not looking forward to driving in this weather. Happy Saturday SEers- 795 replies

Morning all it looks so bight and sunny out today and everything has a layer of frost on it. Not ventured out yet but guaranteed its flipping cold out there!!!! Congratulations Tom! I was brought up in Chislehurst (not far from Elmstead Woods St.) It's a lovely area to grow up in. I've also got a son with additional needs and I totally understand what it's like when your home doesn't support those needs. We've spent a fortune on adapting our home to the point we couldn't move even if we wanted to! All worth it though as we'd do what ever it takes to get him what he needs as I'm sure any parent would. Good luck with the move- 795 replies

It's hard to imagine its snowing in our area today as the sun is shining here!!! Fingers crossed for you lot that it provides a good dumping (I mean that in the nicest possible way ) I'm off to parents eve now. Wish me luck! Who has turned up in the Mod thread? I'm confused but strangely intrigued- 795 replies
