    Just been reliving the winter of 81/82 through the archive charts - the winter that got me hooked on my fascination of the weather! There are many charts now (admittedly at least a week away still.....) that are very similar to some major cold and snowy blizzards from this time. Would be amazing to see something like this again actually happen for real! Take care all

    Thanks Eskimo, the clouds are quite low, so not much distance in it - hoping it adds to some sort of convergence tonight for some worthwhile snow! As it stands, the front has barely anything left to it!

    Still frosty and bitter out, can see smoke from a chimney in the distance travelling northwards yet the clouds are moving in a southerly direction, why is this anyone?

    Not sure if this belongs here, but on the way home I saw the most amazing bright light zoom across the sky from south to north at 5.35pm, quite close to the ground heading towards the Witney area from Standlake and can only put it down to a meteor the speed it was travelling, before it burnt up? Just wondering if anyone else spotted this, as it certainly made your stomach flutter as to what on earth it was!
