  1. NCEP are saying that the 12z GFS parallel will be delayed for around 2 hours today..
  2. Definitely can't recreate this, have tested against all of our web servers & checked our external monitoring and there's nothing flagging up. Perhaps clearing your browser cache and cookies will solve it. If not, please let me know which browser you're using, and which pages are throwing up the error.
  3. Not seen any other reports of issues at all tbh, will look into it though.
  4. Santa has been updated http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=xmas;sess=
  5. I know we cover this quite regularly but for new people, and those who have maybe forgotten just wanted to quickly remind everyone the difference between this thread and the model ramps/moans and banter thread. In short, this thread is for more reasoned discussion of the models, that doesn't mean there can be no emotion or excitement etc, but as people come to this thread to read model discussion it's things like these which need to be posted into the other thread: "OMG this run is great, time to dust off the sledge" "This run is rubbish" "All the runs show cold next week, I can't wait for it to snow" "Ignore the models, I bet it's going to get cold anyway" "I want it to be hot/cold/wet/dry/snowy, when will the models show that?" "The models have all shown cold in 10 days time for 3 days now, but now they're not [insert generic moan/groan here!]" So please take a moment to think about where the best place is to make your post, and if your post isn't model related in the slightest don't forget there are dozens of other active threads to use across the forum as well The model ramps/moans/banter thread is here: https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/81281-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-autumnwinter-2014/
  6. Odd, well let me know if it appears again - there definitely shouldn't be one there!
  7. A handful of bugs that were found, which means a restart once they're fixed, and therefore a new 30 day period before going live apparently.
  8. Hi Andy, when I'm watching there's no icon on there - could you post up a screen shot?
  9. Not sure if this has been mentioned at all, but the GFS upgrade has been pushed to January sometime....
  10. Wondering what the polar vortex is? Have a read of Nick F's blog for all the info http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=6291;sess=
  11. The NMM will pick out more local detail, the GFS is a broader brush, but is still a useful tool.
  12. We do use the higher res nmm for the storm forecast (the model doesn't create separate convective cloud in the first 48 hours, it's bundled together within non-convective cloud), the storm risk maps use the GFS which is lower res
  13. The models update every 6 hours, and the charts/forecasts follow that schedule. The storm forecasts on the site use our NMM models, whereas the storm risk maps you're referring to are from the GFS, so they will be different (the NMM is higher resolution).
  14. Which is a direct quote lifted from the prelim-winter outlook page. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=longrange;sess=
  15. Lots of talk about the Polar Vortex, but what is it? Nick's blogged with the answers: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=6291;sess=
  16. I think he's busy with naughty/nice lists currently, gets a bit more time nearer xmas
  17. The Wales weather chat thread is back for winter, ramp anyone?
  18. The referendum may have kept Scotland as part of Britain, but independence is back again on here, ready for winter to begin!
  19. The midlands thread is now back in action!
  20. The NW England thread is back, and ready for the start of winter
  21. The far north of England thread is now re-open and ready for winter!
