  1. Going to be closing this and starting a fresh thread shortly..
  2. Again, posts like: "This run is bad" "This run is a shocker" "That's it, the cold isn't coming" Are not model discussion, they're model reaction, and that sort of reaction is not what this thread is for so please put them over into the model banter thread: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78680-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-winter-201314/ Posts are being removed because of this, it's wasting your time and the teams time, and ultimately for those who won't make the effort to make sure their posts are relevant to the thread they're posted into, it will lead to the possibility of being stopped from posting into any of the model threads. No-one wants that to happen, but equally those using this thread deserve to be able to use it as intended - ie as a discussion about the model output, not as a toy throwing, emotional rollercoaster with no actual model related info within a large portion of the posts. Please take heed of this!!!!
  3. Can I recommend the banter/moaning/ramping thread for those who have nothing else to add other than a rant/whine or ramp without any actual model discussion. There's nothing wrong with these types of posts, but they need to go into the right place and not clutter up the model thread. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78680-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-winter-201314/
  4. Thought it would be handy to repost the above as the 12z watching session gets underway! Also, for those comparing the 06z and the 12z on the GFS (or the 00z and the 12z on the ecm), you can look at them alongside eachother on the viewers - just click the previous run button on the right hand menu and you can compare like for like:
  5. Thanks for all the photos so far, please do keep them coming
  6. Very busy in here tonight, for those who may be new to model watching - you can view all the major models here: GFS ECMWF ECMWF EPS GEFS Ensembles UK Met Fax GEM Compare The Big 4 Happy model watching
  7. Jo has written a blog about this today: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5605;sess=
  8. For those who prefer to banter about the models rather than discuss them in more detail, don't forget there is the model chat/banter/moans/ramps thread: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/78680-model-banter-moans-and-ramps-winter-201314/ Typical posts suited to that thread may be: or or or or
  9. Some of the bickering and point scoring in here is starting to get really tiresome again - no-one wants to stop people posting in here but if those involved want to continue then it's going to happen imminently. Please moderate your own posts before the team have to take it out of your hands..
  10. We're on the lookout for some weather related photos to feature on Netweather homepage, forecasts, articles and blogs, so if you have any photos you'd like share with us that would be great. With over 1 million people visiting netweather every month, it's a really good opportunity to showcase your photos to a very large audience. We'll credit each photo, and will have a permanent page with links to profiles/galleries on here, or if you have a website for your photos we can also link to that. We have 2 photo types we use, one on the homepage which needs to be sized (or croppable to) 800x300 pixels, the second type is for the articles/blogs which need to be sized 660x480 pixels. We can crop images from this end, so if you're not sure how to resize them don't worry. To send your photos there are a few options, you can upload them to this thread, upload them to the gallery and then contact me via email (paul[at]netweather.tv) or pm to let me know. Or you can send them over to pics[at]netweather.tv. Please include details of the credit you would like. The photo needs to be yours for us to accept it, so please don't send any photos from a 3rd party. Thanks Paul
  11. I must admit, I've never seen or heard of that being an issue tbh.
  12. The usual reminder - this is the model thread so please use it to discuss the model output and not just to 'report' and add spin to updates from others either in this thread or other sources.
  13. Tickets are a bit backed up with the xmas/new year break etc, but I've just done that for you now - your original account has the live subscription on it
  14. Latest week ahead forecast from Jo: http://vimeo.com/83030286 Happy New Year
  15. A good chance of dry weather as we head towards midnight to welcome in the New Year, but it's quickly downhill from there with a very wet and blustery first day of 2014 and no real signs of respite over the next few days. View the full blog entry here

  21. If you can send them into our ticketing system I'll get it all sorted for you http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=contact;sess=
  22. Hi, we can upgrade it for you - up to you how you'd like to it - we can take an additional payment to make it up to the full sub, or we can convert it to a 7 month full subscription for you. We can also put it onto your existing login if you like too:)
  23. Apologies for the problem, should be sorted now
  24. Just looking into this now, seems to be an intermittent issue which hasn't been flagging on our monitoring systems.
