  1. No offence but why is still a summer thread and its not even summer any more?

    :nonono:

Last winters thread is still open and people were still posting on it until April, so if that wasn't closed straight after winter ended there is no reason at all to close this one.

  2. Crikey - who's ruffled your feathers?! It's called the 'Summer 2014 Thread', not the 'We Love Summer 2014 Thread And The Only Folk Allowed On Are Those Who Will Gush About How Great It Is Thread'. It's great for some and horrible for others - and I do believe that it's right to be able to moan and to explain why, against the perceived, totally fallacious notion that everyone likes the heat. We could be having another 2007 right now and I guarantee that all the summer-lovers would be suicidal, and folk of my ilk would be full of ourselves - but the weather of any season does not come with guarantees.

I like your posts as they are often funny in a depressing sort of way, the problem is that if someone posted the same sort of stuff on the winter thread they would all be deleted and the poster probably banned for trolling, too much mod bias and lack of consistency on here.

  3. jeez..... we have only had a week of temps c25-6, its hardly been really hot.would you tell coldies the same thing? be content with temps 2/3c ?there is a difference between those few degrees which only heat lovers understand. .... eg 22c not really warm enough to relax in thepool.... 25c is perfect.

Do you have a pool? a drop down to 22/23 won't bother me in the least as long as we still get some sun, actually to me 30c is better for the pool or sea.

  4. Its was removed twice for two reasons. The first was this is Autumn discussion and the second was that it was clearly designed to wind up people. If we get to Autumn and there's weather you don't like, then by all means post about it (like people are in the summer thread who dislike the heat), but don't just post throwaway comments designed to get people's backs up.

There's far too much in the way of partisan posting in this and the summer thread, it needs to stop now.

It wasn't designed to wind up people at  all, if a simple post like that is the definition of what you delete then half the summer thread would be gone.

My post was encompassing the QBO state which will have an effect throughout both autumn and winter. Personally I see autumn and winter as one anyway (just like spring and summer) and I'm hardly posting with the intention to cause trouble....unlike some.

I've seen you post CFS charts for December in the middle of last summers MOD thread so you are hardly in any position to criticise.

Anyway I really dislike the coldie/mildie aspect of these threads so will not post in this thread from now on, or the winter one when that begins.

  5. Hoping for frequent warm/mild southerlies and periods of high pressure in September and October. Later into November the Atlantic can fire up and the gales can commence.

And then the warm/mild southerlies continue from November 30th.

Don't know why this post has been deleted twice, it's just my preference which people are allowed to post on the summer thread.

  6. Only a bit of banter....don't take it so seriously....if I offended you I apologise. :)

No need to apologise, just though it was a poor effort, and had to go out so didn't have time to post properly, I like a bit of banter and take nothing too serious.

  7. Hopefully it'll cool down quite a bit...etc...etc..ad infinitum......the thought of cooler weather must really grind your gears...lol

Yes of course it does, I hate it and wish I had the money to live somewhere where it is like this all year round, but I don't so am stuck here with this awful weather at least 9 months of the year.

  8. I get the impression that many that enjoy the extremes in temps high or low do not have to work out in it for great lengths of time for a living.  Happy to be proven wrong there though.

I spent 10 years working in pottery factory emptying kilns sometimes which were still red hot, wasn't much fun going in on 2-10 shift but still thought a good summer was worth it, was there in 95 and loved the 6-2 shift as was cooler in morning then went fishing most afternoons,

  9. I've noticed too - can't believe anyone hasn't. Setting off for 'nights' at the solstice and it was practically full-on daylight... nothing like that at 2150 now. And having to be up at 0430 all this week, the darker mornings are really getting into gear. Need the house lights on now, not so a coupla weeks back.

Really? I get up at 4.45 and don't need the lights on, when I need the car lights on at 5.30 driving to work is when I will really notice the change.

  10. I'd be quite happy with an 07 or 12 summer, I live on a hill and find the notion of living where you could be flooded as ludicrous.

OK, tell the government that all the 200,000 new homes that need to be built every year in this country need to be built on hills.
