Lovely and sunny here, off for a walk along the canal and a couple of pints and lunch in the pub, perfect.

High pressure, would prefer 21-24c but warmer than that would be preferable to cooler.

Yes good 6z run for the next 7 days, nothing cold and mainly dry.

Neither did the ECM 12z. Perhaps there's something we're missing.
No there is nothing to miss.

Easter weekend looks really ambiguous, each run is completely different to the one before, it seems.
Agreed although the Met update shows some promise, really hope we don't get the cool northerly rubbish to ruin the Bank holiday weekend.

That's over two weeks away and definitely won't happen hopefully!!!!
More accurate.

Cloudy with quite a strong wind making it feel cooler.
-
Conversely the ECM is pretty dire, wet and windy
Could get a northerly as the Azores high retrogresses but I think it would be completely toothless though.
Aye the ECM run is utter garbage, hope that doesn't come off.

The MET are very keen on a cooler unsettled end to March and have been for a good few days now, maybe they are hope-casting to...? I doubt it. The models we have access to are still playing/toying with the idea.
It's all about timing and trends im afraid, not one run, And the over-ruling trend is that of cooler unsettled conditions to take over by last 1/4 of March. A typical March affair is what i expect.
Firstly, the post I quoted said cold snap, I know very well the MET are saying cooler unsettled and they will probably be right, the hopecasters as I call them are the people who post 1 chart at 9/10 days out and say things like widespread snow and -10 uppers and think they are "nailed on" as one potser said.
I am a realist and obviously don't expect it to stay like it is now for months on end. A typical March affair is what i expect as well.

It appears that any cold snap, one that has consistently shown up on many runs over the last 3-4 days, has been cancelled...because a run this morning said so.
But it was consistently shown up on many runs at 9/10 days out then kept getting pushed back, obviously if it is going to happen it needs to get closer to the reliable time frame to even start to believe it is going to happen but it never got any closer.
As one very good poster pointed out yesterday the models are having a difficult time past day 5 at the minute and to expect anything at day 9 to verify is just hopecasting.

Sunny with clear blue skies.

The ECM 0z WILL moderate the cold, just can't see any snow on the horizon.
It is only there for one day anyway then it's gone again, and it's 9 days away anyway, hopecasters never learn.

Got next week off work as it is Cheltenham festival, models looking good for dry and hopefully some warm weather.

Most people are loving this mild winter you say? they must like rain, wind and cloud then. Transport disruption is good, the less time spent at work the better imho lol.
May be good if you still get paid but I like most people don't and many can't afford to lose a day or mores pay.
I haven't enjoyed this winter though it is better than cold and snow but to me it is like an option of one leg amputated or two, would much prefered a mild and dry winter.
