The models are clearly struggling with precipitation. I think next week could be surprising for many not just the few. Fingers crossed!

Well I happen to hold this model in high regard (when colder weather is showing ) even if the met office don’t. Would be a lovely way to keep the cold coming and with the kinky flow plenty of snow showers moving east to west and very cold nights nationwide.
well if the big low moves east nicely and not as strong then charts will start looking like this ..

A better run from the GFS 12Z: cold everywhere by next weekend, but the best (the frames that should be sponsored by Tena Man) are saved till last!
Jingle bells, Batman smells...
would i be right in thinking even with those warmer uppers on the last chart we'd still be blummin cold!

Just to add. Remember this time last week we were panicking about the Iberian low being blown up and turning us mild, now that seems like a distant memory. Suspect we might see the same with this so called tropical storm
it'll probably be gone totally on 18z!!!

A bit off topic, but Chris Fawkes just mentioned Greenland blocking and "very cold" arctic air reaching the UK towards the end of next week on the bbc forecast about 15 minutes ago.
Unusual for them to push the boat out that far.
very cold air to that lot usually means 5 degrees c !!!
