  1. Best day of the month so far.. Great day for sunshine with fair weather cumulus clouds this afternoon.. This warm front moving in but a hazy few hours there but pleasant evening. Max of 18c today but felt nice in the sun..
  2. A number of them scattered about. Could see on telly from Royal Troon a decent Anvil popping up to the North beyond the other clouds.. I've been watching all possible forecasts to see if we will even get a spell in the warm sector and sadly this isn't going to happen might for a spell behind the Warm Front on Friday but looks likely 24 hours later the cold front will push through bringing today's conditions back..
  3. Had yesterdays warm front cleared the south east before the trough of Thunderstorms hit behind it.. I seen the tennis at Eastbourne yesterday and I could see blue skies so looked like the warm front had been..
  4. Threatened to rain around 11am this morning and it was a spot onto the car windscreen. I didn't need to use the wipers once.. Sun came back out afterwards but there was Thundery outbreaks over South Lanarkshire so not far away.. This evening turned out nice and distant Anvils could be seen North East and East from Glasgow..
  5. Still a few visable anvils can be seen.. There was a thundery shower other side of windfarm this afternoon. Big black cloud nearby just managed to avoid here..
  6. Some lively showers now developed over the Southern Uplands and into the borders. Can see Anvils all in line with each other..
  7. Yes can see to the south clouds bubbling up.. Wouldn't rule out a Thundery Shower developing over Dumfries and Galloway and even a bit of Ayrshire and Lanarkshire this afternoon into this evening.. Forecast however says it should be dry but cloud getting closer..
  8. Yes the last few May's have been pretty poor.. Certainly the best May since 2008 which was a warm and sunny May think we had several days that month temps reached the mid 20s.. However the rest of that year was awful.. The year before (2007) had a great April and May then it went downhill after that..
  9. Looking at the surface pressure I can't get if these Thunderstorms across the Channel are part of the warm front or not.. They seem to be part of the band of rain which I thought was the warm front.. Maybe somebody could tell me if I am wrong and it's the cold front or not coming behind causing these major storms..
  10. Yes could see from Glasgow the darker looking skies earlier towards Helensburgh and Loch Lomond. Lots of clouds in the way bu could see the Anvils just. See some downpours have developed around Inverclyde and North Ayrshire now..
  11. This east coast weather spread through here.. It's rather cold with some drizzle here.. Suppost to be easterly's next few days.. Forecasts suppost to be cloudy next few days with low cloud. Monday does looks decent..
  12. Thundery shower down the Clyde Valley the anvil has managed to stretch above me thankfully the sun can get through it making it pleasant to sit out..
  13. I could see today a few Cumulonimbus develop west of Glasgow these did indeed give a downpour with some Thunder to the Greenock area and to the North of Glasgow.. South Lanarkshire and East Ayrshire also seen a Thundery Shower yet the Cup Final at Hampden turned out a decent afternoon with sunshine and dry..
  14. The showers died off this morning and it hasn't been a bad day the usual cumulus clouds for and sunshine for a time. With the warm front gradually coming in now with the usual cirrus been now gradual decline with the rain on its way and tomorrow not looking great either..
  15. Is this heavy downpours or just cloud and general cloud and heavy rain that is falling?
  16. Feels warmer this evening 7c with what looks like a warm front or occluded front on way.. Rain at Western Ireland the now.. April been a cold month but any rain was convective and not from proper rain bands/fronts..
  17. After the snow early on Friday it actually turned out a no bad day.. Dry the rest of the day and temps around 9/10c certainly felt better with some nice sunshine.. Looking at the parks most trees still bare.. Usually by now even after a cold winter the budding would be well on course with fresh leaves just about everywhere.. Not this year and only 3 days of April around or just above average with that HIGH last week.. Weekend looks poor and we will be lucky to get much mild air with the cold front looking to be straight behind a warm front..
  18. Very pleasant afternoon it turned out to be 10c thought still not great temp but it was pleasant with less cloud this afternoon.. Nice sitting outside hearing planes descend towards Glasgow airport...
  19. Loads of cirrus about there over Glasgow as the skies cleared from afternoon showers.. Getting cold car temp said 3.5c.
  20. Clear night and with the sunset nearly gone I noticed distant Anvils looks to me a fair bit west the last of showers I reckon.. The car temp gauge buzzed at +3.5c there so i expect it to dip a fair bit more with a frost developing.. Been dry most of the day managed to avoid the heaviest of a shower this afternoon with only tiny spots here. Ground stayed dry..
  21. Some nice sunshine this afternoon however plenty of showers about nearby. Can see a huge distant anvil southwards could be as far as Dumfries and looking at radar it could well be between Dumfries and Sanquar..
  22. The snow expected didn't happen at all last night.. I think the reason why is the strong winds died down early rather than continue through the night.. If the strong winds had continued some of us would have got these heavy snow showers.. Argyll and Highlands seen some very heavy showers some with Thunder even at 2am the showers were still hitting them..
  23. Quite a few towering cumulus clouds to the north of Glasgow.. Yep Spring like skies now with us..
  24. Great photos there.. You could still make out the Ochils behind the Black Hill transmitter just before its dark.. To the NE/E of Tinto the Pentlands are clear even the Eastern edge of them at ski slope and hill at Penicuik can be seen.. I climbed it few summers ago and could see the haar through the gap of the hills. July 2013 I was up and high was 26c that day.. Haar can be seen in the distance.
  25. Very surprised to see it snow here. Was a completely dry and clear night with widespread frost no snow forecast yet going to bed looks like it's been snowing past half hour.
