  1. After all the rain today it’s finally cleared up and much calmer. Making up for all the dry weather we had August and September now. Driving home tonight I could see very distant cumulonimbus clouds towards the coast with all anvils clearly seen due the sunset and clear skies. Should have took a photo really did look good and by judging by the current rainfall radar these clouds are beyond Islay must be 90/100 miles away.
  2. Was out there for a walk. A huge Cumulonimbus to my south this appears to be maybe just over the boundary of Dumfries & Galloway but some height of a cloud. To my South East another storm perhaps over Midlothian/Borders.
  3. Very angry looking sky when I left Glasgow on way home and it’s a Thunderstorm as I could hear rumbling when I returned home
  4. Out for a walk there and can see these potential thunderstorms develop. Looks to be over the western parts of the borders.
  5. Can see the cell over the Dumfries area from EK. Can also see further distant anvil tops too. This is about 45/50 miles from me (zoomed in though)
  6. Yesterday Met Office showed Saturday and Sunday to be full sunshine for here.. Now it’s showing cloudy for the weekend. Tomorrow now looks to be the best day then cloudy from Friday onwards.
  7. It’s turned out a great late afternoon with warm sunshine and just some blobs of cloud. Unexpected this.
  8. Watching the Scottish Open live (on telly) from East Lothian and play has been suspended as Thunder was heard nearby. Seems to be more Eastern Scotland that are seeing the showers.. Been showers in the west too but short lived. Think it’s been dry in EK as my Garden is dry when I returned home and sun has appeared now.
  9. There was a heavy shower within last hour in EK or at least my side of the town anyway. Could be one of these weekends where some places will avoid the downpours.
  10. Torrential showers now developing in parts of North and South Lanarkshire. Threatened to rain here earlier but turned out few spots on windscreen that was it.
  11. A cracker of an afternoon it turned out. Only fair weather cloud and little of it come 5pm and was a day for sitting in the garden with little interrupted sunshine along with some pleasant heat and good visibility if you wanted views from anywhere.. Tomorrow’s forecast isn’t bad but I can’t see it been as nice.. Next week looks rather dull and wet at times. Although we haven’t had any major heatwave/scorchers it’s been pretty dry so far this month..
  12. Nice morning here but has been more in the cloudy side this afternoon, warm but rather windy. Seems to be a bit of rain not far south now.
  13. I hope tomorrow afternoon is better than today. When you have the time to sit out in the garden in afternoon everytime it clouds over. Nice morning though but the cloud started bubbling from 11am. Noticed now they’re bubbling that wee bit more within past hour and perhaps the shower could happen and looks closer to home
  14. Well from EK I can see aggressive looking sky to my north east. Judging by radar it will be the showers over North Lanarkshire/Falkirk areas.
  15. Past 3 days here haven’t been too bad. Feels a good bit warmer than it has been of late. While the shower activity has been close (very close today) it’s actually remained dry with some heat within the sunshine. Yes there has been towering cumulus blocking the sun at times but it’s pleasant within the sunshine and stayed dry. Near miss this afternoon as Hamilton got heavy showers but stayed dry here. But it’s still cold come the evening when the sun has gone.. Do hope we will see a good bit warmer conditions come June. Horse Chestnuts near me still not flowered properly and leaves still not in full leaf.
  16. I do remember lying Snow at end of April 2016.. And I think it was last April rain turned to snow just at the tail end of a cold front after a reasonably warm day before the front came through during the night with dramatic change in temperature. As for today been dry where I am although dark clouds were near around teatime. I assume that’s the snow everybody else got.
  17. Much more snow in and around Glasgow compared to East Kilbride this morning. Roads in Glasgow were poor earlier. Everytime there’s a snow event the City roads become a shambles.
  18. Big shower moving from West Lothian into South Lanarkshire. Think it will make around the Glasgow area soon.
  19. Google maps showing motorways across Central Belt all slow moving.
  20. First snow shower of the night here and it’s now lying. Surprisingly missed out until now.
