  1. Christ what is going on with the Met forecast? This was low twenties days ago and despite absolutely nothing changing in the models it's now barely high teens. Pleased to report nowhere near as much cloud as met office was going for so far today.
  2. It's a repeat of this week though, if anything easterly winds are weaker so not as much moving inland. We had no problem with North Sea cloud this week.
  3. ECM looking brilliant someone tell the Met Office please, every day cloudy on their forecast, I'm nowhere near the East coast.
  4. Briefly touched 20C earlier but quickly down to 17C now that cold front has passed.
  5. Mostly cloudy now the last 2 hours with the occasional sunshine, still warm enough at 19C though.
  6. I'm not against it in the appropriate seasons
  7. Imagine being against the literal giver of life on Earth. Front over us here, but still some hazy sunshine. 17C.
  8. Even in London the average night time minimum is 10C, meaning most other places it will be single figures. You are looking at exceptional warm spells to still feel warm late in the evening. I do think there's an element of wanting payback for such a horrific March and to a lesser extent April, but that's getting in the way of enjoying some very reasonable weather. Here locally it's been a good 2 weeks of sunny spells or near cloudless days with mostly average or slightly above average temperatures and the odd day like today 3-5C above average. Very happy with May personally, will give it a 7.5/10. I think there would be less complaining if this May had come in a year that had a few warm spells in March and April.
  9. New high of 22C and first day since probably September where it's still felt reasonably warm in the evening, still 20C.
  10. 21C and not one cloud in the sky, zero breeze, proper warmth.
  11. Well the signal for the high to come back down very quickly after the retrogression is quite strong so the 06z for example doesn't even look that bad. If we could just have the tiniest bit of energy injected into the Atlantic we could still avoid any cold spell altogether.
  12. 20C mostly sunny, perfect late May day.
  13. Clear start here 17C and no breeze so already feeling warm.
  14. UKMO struggling to retrogress, would think this would produce our first 25C somewhere.
  15. First half of the day lovely again currently 19C though looking at the satellite our luck will run out soon.
  16. 17C and mostly sunny. Met office cloud forecasts have had a mare again. Was meant to be fully overcast and they keep extending the sun by an hour each hour instead of simply revising the forecast. Such an odd system.
  17. Well, GFS has taken everyone for a ride, even got the Met convinced in the video above that Monday would be dreadful, only to backtrack! Monday looking respectable again away from East coast.
  18. 21C, not much of a breeze so feeling very warm in sun. This May is going to be underrated at this rate. Not as many warm days as we'd like but very few miserable days too.
  19. 20C, best day of the year so far. Monday peaked at 21C but there was a good 2 hours of full cloud cover that day. First time my area has gone above the forecasted maximum too, after a week of consistently being under. Hopefully soil drying out beginning to take effect?
  20. 18C and clear. Choosing to ignore the GFS.
  21. GFS not looking too bad either, slightly worse position of the high and that upper low is a bit too close for comfort, but compared to earlier runs, big improvement for early next week.
  22. For me I lose the jumper at about 17C if conditions are perfect - no cloud and no wind. If it's windy and cloudy though probably 22-23C.
  23. 13C and cloudy. Don't know what planet these weather apps are on this week, been absolutely rubbish forecasting cloud amounts.
  24. I'm surprised 20-22C isn't feeling so warm for many. After 8 months of rubbish, 21C feels brilliant. No heatwave but it's still a good 3-4C above average for time of year.
