  1. Quick thaw this morning after a small top up. Not one for the history books but at least it was something.
  2. Crazy that's only 5 miles up from here and it was all rain when it passed. Boundary must be edging south.
  3. This next band of rain would have been 2 inches of snow an hour. 50 mile shift in low track would have made this an event to remember, what a waste.
  4. Winds starting to back Northeasterly on West coast of Wales now, thought it would be too early for England though.
  5. We had to drive back from Burton to Liverpool that night. I remember it caught the pros out and weather apps were showing 3C and rain while it was heavy snow outside.
  6. Back edge of Arwen was just a patchy 1-2cm for me. It was another front the next day that I got a good cover.
  7. Yes I'm never a fan of these wrap around back edge snow events. Boxing day 2014 is the only one I remember that actually delivered a decent event.
  8. Met office app now going for all snow from 7pm but really not seeing it. UKV must be on a mad one I'm guessing.. Based on uppers I'm going for 11pm tbh.
  9. Pivot only just starting now over West Ireland so a lot of time to get through for the snow to survive. Hoping for dry and cloudy tbh at least until sunset. My patch at 90 metres snow still healthy on grass, cleared off roads and most pavements now, little hill at 120m still ok on pavements too, city center at 50m almost nothing. I have seen slight differences in snow before at such little elevation differences but it's never been this defined.
  10. In the town now and wow it's crazy the difference even 50 metres is making this event, barely anything here.
  11. Alternating between sleet and snow now, though in the light patch at the moment. Hopefully the heavy stuff is snow. Need to keep the sun away until sunset for the grass snow to survive I think!
  12. Guessing about here at the moment based on when that heavy stuff from Wales starts becoming fuzzy on the radar.
  13. If we can keep hold of the snow on the ground until 8-9pm then good potential for accumulations overnight. Fawkes confident of 5-10cm in East Midlands airport which is pretty close to my area.
  14. Improvement on the app Snow until 5pm and back by 9pm. This was 3pm and 11pm last night. Let's hope it's true or even better. 7-8cm on the grass now and a good 1-2cm on pavements and roads too.
  15. Heavy stuff settling everywhere now! Good 6cm on the grass. VID_20230309_094957587.mp4
  16. Still cautious as all the other models haven't shown any changes from last night.
  17. Interesting FAX chart for midnight, we are quite clearly north of the occlusion, which is a decent southern shift. But not noticing any difference on all the other models though.
  18. Think North Midlands should be good until early afternoon as it stands.
  19. Ended up with 3-4cm on the grass. Big contrast with pavement where it's nothing/dusting/patchy 1cms. January had more depth on pavements and roads too, but I'll rank this one better than January thanks to being able to watch snow falling almost all day. The less said about December the better.
  20. Heavier snow has passed, probably 1-2cm on grass/sheds/cars, dusting on pavements.
  21. Dusting on grass now with a few patches developing, pavement still not having any of it though.
