  1. Good to hear your view too.. It’s caused a bit of a worry with some eventers ( horse competition people) .. i.e start of the season in March.
  2. Here we go..anyone seen this? http://cannockchaseweather.co.uk/vortex-showing-signs-it-will-be-warming-quickly/
  3. Right am clearing my diary of meetings Tuesday .. hmm fat chance.. meeting clearance that is ...
  4. Well it wouldn’t be a winter if one of the media houses didn’t catastrophe another potential non event. These make me chuckle now; it must be British sarcasm . http://huffp.st/7O2gGQM
  5. What’s going on... do I detect a sleet symbol on the forecast for Thursday morn?
  6. Yep I thought that 10mins avo as sun trying to come out. Then quickly thought ... nar I’ll wait to do gardening.. sure enough it’s clouded over again..
  7. That squall line not far off what was forecast. Wind pick up dead on time 6am here. Here it comes
  8. Driving on the motorway this lunchtime, conditions and visibility very poor, and I couldn’t get over how may drove without lights on. The majority did to be fair, but why not put lights on? Very odd.
  9. Ps anyone notice the wind has picked up a bit? I’ll check the radar, could be front? Home today in Chichester and it did just pour all day with rain
  10. There’s a few serious warning in there too, and all that is before the rain has time to filter off the land, hills, etc into the watercourses. Not looking good.
  11. Yep good observation.. I didn’t check the radar at that time. It was Caversham looking north east, so Henley direction.. but they were massive abc photo doesn’t do it justice. Probably some distance away I bet. Oo Saturday indeed I wonder .. I like surprises!
  12. One effect of the winds is TVP has alerted us around Newbury to an escaped Wolf and it already has been spotted some 10 miles away... rural area of Berkshire... hmm - wont be long am sure before it gets a wee bit hungry? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-42730984 Hope though they catch it and don't have to kill it to catch it.
  13. Just looking at this seems bang on the money for my area... 58 mph recorded at around 3.30pm highest gust
  14. Yep - my local station recorded up to 58mph at yes 3.30 so that'll be the one that woke me up! apparently though 3 jan 2018 had the highest gust of 59mph! So you've beaten us on the gust front but that is definitely high for inland. Very tired and grumpy now!
  15. Well that was windy last night.. around 330am it was properly going for it. A westerly also so I shouldn’t really hear much where the house is located. But I did last night on the same level as feb 2014 - so suspecting they were pretty high gusts? . I did manage to fasten down the bins before hand ... I seem to always have to do next doors also as the carers for the old lady do nothing but overflow them, ( never putting them out for collection) and the contents are constantly spilling all over my garden, so I am not so sure what I will be greeted with when I get outside this morning - I think one went for a good spin over night Still a fair few gusts kicking in....
